Prak took a hint, and kept smiling. He'd wait for the other new comers to pass by if they did.
"Ok, I'll be here if you need me. Have a nice day."

"Yeah, you too." TrueBlue© visibly relaxed and moved on, glad she didn't have to karate somebody so soon.
Hmm, pizza for breakfast...

"Quite a menagerie." Kainus noted, both in an amused, and condescending manner. He followed David to the buffet line, looking at all the characters and authors that were around them, studying them, to see which ones to confront and which to avoid. He would need information sooner or later, but didnt want to make friends with the wrong people... or for that matter, even be noticed by the wrong people. Listening to David, he then replied.
"And what makes you think none of them are such?" He simply replied.

"Oh, I didn't say none of them were," the ranger casually corrected. "But if they all were like I half dreaded, we would have been blinded when we stepped through the door by how all of their hair glistened and their eyes shined. And heaven help us if one of them smiled."

"Oh please, you're too sensitive, they arent THAT bad." Kainus said as he continued surveying the room as he waited in the slow moving line. Though in all honesty, he wasnt really that hungry, but he would have to keep his energy up.

"Have you ever seen a physical manifestation of a Mary Sue?" the ranger asked as he gathered silverware and such as he came to it. "It's not a pretty site. No, I take that back. It's too pretty. It's prettiness honed to the point that it could be used as a weapon."

"I've studied them and read about it for your information, as well as having to interact with them. All it is is simply imperfection found through too much perfection, yes nobody likes it but it wont harm you as much as you allow it to." Kainus argued back.

The young man scoffed as he started through the line. "You think I'm exaggerating, but I once met one that was literally so beautiful, men literally fell at her feet from looking at her. The gorgon of Mary Sues, if you will. Fortunately, she felt the need to fix her hair every five seconds, so her place was filled with mirrors. I didn't need to carry around some awkward mirror shield."

"You are right about that, I do think you are exagerating. Being able to resist beauty is a characteristic of will power. As you say, a character that would cause others to fall to their feet, is in essence no different from a character who turned them into stone. A bit self centered really, but no more powerful than what the authors of other characters allow them to be. Perhaps you will understand that one day, and they will cease to have power over you." Kainus observed calmly.

"Not everything's about willpower," the ranger politely mentioned, "and not all weapons have blades or spit lead."

"Yes, it very much is about willpower." Kainus restated his belief. "Only when something becomes completely, 100% unavoidable, does it no longer become willpower. And before you think I'm agreeing with you, I'm not, that is not a mere problem with a Mary Sue, but becomes an issue of autoing, which enters it's own league." Kainus replied, pausing a moment, then replying somewhat confused
"When did I say anything about weapons only being of the category of blades or lead shooters? I dont remember ever making such a comment."

"You didn't," the young man in the red jacket explained. "But you did speak as if being under attack could simply be willed away since the weapon being used wasn't one you seem to think of as such."

"My previous statement still stands." Kainus said simply, not feeling that his previous argument was addressed. "I feel that yes, it is still a matter of willpower. If it becomes something black and white on how it affects others, then it enters into something else, something beyond being merely a sue or stu." Kainus restated though in a different manner. "However, I do not feel we will agree on this situation regardless."

"You're right," the ranger agreed. "I can't adequately describe to you what actually having to fight one is like without sounding to your ears like I'm just making overused metaphors. Until you actually see someone drop dead just from meeting their eyes, I don't think you'll be able to grasp how literal I'm being. So let's change topics, then. What's your take on this whole world, what with wars of consonants and cathedrals of conjunctions or whatever?"

Kainus was eager to remark to David's last comment, annoyed by the fact that he decided to slip the last word in before changing topics, a quality in people he hated. However, for the sake of composure, he decided to let it slide and allow the topic to be changed. "I've seen better and I've seen worse." Kainus said very simply. He was already quite heated from the debate, fueled by the fact that he had a trial of life and death hanging over his head, going on without ANY of his input; he was not in a good mood. He was not mood to talk to someone he already edged onto his pet peeves in his current situation.
