(^_^ Sorry, Kainus. That's pretty IC behavior for him.)
"Such as?" he asked, hoping for a more descriptive response.

Prak saw the other two new comers in line and thought he would see if they would need any help. He hesitated for a second, but decided that whether they needed his help or not, they would feel more welcome just in his offer of assistance. He approached the buffet line and politely informed any characters or authors behind the two that he was not cutting since he had already, in fact, eaten, and made his way towards the new island inductees.

A rather interesting being was operating the lunch line, something that looked like a hybrid between a human and an extraordinarily clean species of beetle. The only thing that identified it as a cook would be a neat chef hat and apron and its ability to articulate with a British accent.
"What can I get for you chaps?" It was referring to Kainus and David, they seemed to have barren trays. Its antenna twitched as it waited and ignored Drak who was trayless.
(Poor Beanybag, he seems to be being ignored so much, anyway, hopefully this will get things back on track.)

"What'cha got?" David asked as he came up to the chef through the line.

The insect chef smiled broadly or at least as much as a pair of mandibles could accomplish. It motioned with its foremost claws to the wide spread of freshly-made goods that were expertly prepared.
"Got a lot of good things sir, you seem like an 'Earthian' chap so maybe you'd like a swig that coffee stuff, or bagels or those sausages. Name it, and by the Queen herself we'd have it."

Kainus didn’t bother to answer the question, if David was distracted, let him be. He tried to not let the appearance of the 'bug' put him off however; he knew this place was weird from the start. Still, if they were offering free food, and not only that, but a variety of it. Or that was at least, what he interpreted it to be. From the way the bug spoke, they either had a variety of foods of basic pallets, or had the entire list of Human cuisine. He was distracted enough by the thought of food selection; he did not notice the resident walk up to them.
"You wouldn’t by chance have 30oz lobster tail would you?" Kainus questioned. One of his favorite dishes, of course, having it regularly was preposterous due to prices, but hey, if it was FREE, what the heck?

Behind it and a fogged up window, other buglike shadows seemed to be frantically dancing, occasionally a metal clank would sound, but it seemed to be a normal occurrence.
The chef's multi-eyed lenses flicked to Kainus, "Right thing we do," his middle-set of arms moved around under the cutting-board counter, "But what'll you be indulging in for the fixings? And how many servings? Anything else you want?"

"I think I'll just have pancakes, bacon and some orange juice," the red ranger answered. "Hey, not that I'm complaining, but why does a prison island have gourmet meals?"

Its attention darted over to David, "Couple of jacks, bacon and orange juice," it hit a bell for the order before answering the question. Its other appendages were busy with their task beneath the counter, but one hand scratched what would be a chin on a normal human.
"I'm not one to impose my own opinions, but this place isn't such an ugly word, it's the home away from home or like going back to school. And who says school can't be fun?"

"School, huh?" the young man asked. "I can live with school. So it's supposed to be less a prison and more a re-educational facility?"

The chef just nodded its head, briskly. Another soft bell was heard and a pair of its hands reached to the back, specifically to a little window, and opened it. Steam and various food-smells billowed out from the opening and it handed David his requested plate of food and Kainus his own with little tubs of butter, lemon and other condiments on the side. The creature waved its hands in a shooing motion, others had to be fed.

The red ranger moved on as bidden, speaking again to Kainus. "That explains why such intensive cases aren't here. Extreme Mary Sues generally can't be re-educated. Any attempt usually ends up messy."

"Hey there, you two" Prak beamed, "Are you newcomers to the island here?"

Upon taking his food, Kainus gave David a look of surprise and frustration, his face contorting to show such emotions as best he could.
"You... you cant be serious... are you trying to reopen that discussion, because from the looks of it, you really are, I thought we agreed to drop that subject and all related topics, or are you simply trying to discuss something so similar, that's it can be considered the same thing yet you have a means to deny it as such?" Kainus spat, obviously irritated. They had just closed a topic on the Mary-Sue/Gary Sue debate, and suddenly he's inviting to open it up again with his small chatter on topics he does not completely understand. He wanted to simply label him as ignorant and leave him be, but he realized that he needed to stay in groups here, as little good as it should do anyways. He realized that David had categorized his words in such a manner, that denying it as such, would make him look ignorant, quickly he added.
"Fine, you want a response on the subject. Here: you're right, the extreme of anything cant be rehabilitated here, or generally anywhere at that." He covered himself, but his patience with David was starting to wear thin, very thin.
Feh, School, he wasn't even supposed to be here in the first place, the only reason he WAS here was because he was being held for "murder", or rather, framed for it. He couldn't continue his thought process as suddenly it was interrupted by an outside source.
Turning to the newcomer, he responded, his demeanor changing with it, to being calm and unaffected by their previous engagement.
"Yes, we are new." He responded, very simply.

"Sorry," David apologized to the lobster man. "I wasn't trying to reopen any discussion, just making an observation and trying to figure this place out."
Then Park showed up and the ranger glanced toward him before sitting down. "Just came in last night," he elaborated on Kainus' answer. "Or what they made us believe was last night, though here, that doesn't seem to make much difference."
