(Okay, EJP, here she is. Mostly finished, but not quite.)
Name: Shuiro Souran (Shoe-ear-oh So-rawn)
Name meaning: “Shuiro”- vermillion; “Souran”- disturbance, control
Age: 16
Gender: female
Race: human
Alignment: neutral good
Power level: 4 (Low-Tier Medium/Chunin)
Timeline: modern
Appearance:
Hair: Straight and light reddish-brown, hanging down to about her collar bone. Her bangs are cut straight just above her eyebrows, and the top layer of her hair is pulled back in a ponytail.
Eyes: hazel
Skin: pale Caucasian
Build: slender with an athletic, boy-like body
Height: 5’5”
Weight: 113
Attire: Shuiro wears a pair of dark gray shorts that are relatively form-fitting, hanging down just above her knee. She wears a black, fitted camisole, a pale blue choker, and pale blue gloves that go up to the middle of her upper arm, the cuff secured by a thin belt. Her shoes are standard black ninja sandals and she wears her black Konoha headband around her neck. Like almost all ninjas, her kunai holster is strapped over a section of bandage on her right thigh and her shuriken pouch is clipped to her rear left pocket. She often carries a gray messenger bag during longer missions.
Outstanding features: (none)
Personality: Shuiro has an extremely outgoing attitude. She loves things that are fun and fast-paced, but she likes peace and harmony as well. At times, she may seem airheaded, though in fact she is very smart. She’s known to be volatile and can have a short temper, but this is mainly when standing up for her friends. Shuiro is the master of procrastination and can be a bit of a pessimist, despite her bubbly attitude.
*Jung – Myers-Briggs typology describes Shuiro as an ENFP type (extraverted-intuitive-feeling-perceiving), or a Champion Idealist. This is a rare personality type that considers intense emotions to be necessary to daily life. They have an overwhelming need to tell others about their lives and experiences, making them the most inspiring and energizing of all the types. They strive for individualism, are extra sensitive and alert, are warm and full of zest, and are confident in public. They tend to get bored quickly and slack off, as well as make stereotypes.
History:
Shuiro was born to her mother and father early one morning in Konoha. Immediately, the doctors knew something was wrong—Shuiro was not crying and her skin had a pale blue hue. She was rushed to the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit where she was put on life support. Over the next few days, extensive testing was done on the baby girl while her condition steadily improved. After one week, she was strong enough to leave the NICU and finally go home with her parents. When her test results came back about a month after her birth, the doctors explained to her parents that she was anemic, though she might eventually grow out of her anemia as do many children. They also explained that they found something much stranger; Shuiro was no known blood type. Her parents, both the common type O, found this information startling. The doctors explained that her blood seemed to be able to support her, but the cause was unknown. The most likely justification, they said, was a genetic mutation; perhaps the start of a kekkei genkai. Although they had been assured that their daughter would be fine, Shuiro’s parents were still anxious and confused. They decided to tell Shuiro only about her anemia and not her blood mutation.
Shuiro’s next seven years of life were normal, save for a few dizzy spells she had when she would have nosebleeds. As the doctors predicted, her anemia stopped causing her problems around the time she was seven. If the girl still had anemia, no one would be able to tell. She was a spirited girl, always talking and getting into mischief. With her improved health, she was able to join the Konoha Ninja Academy, an outlet for her energy. She ranked high in most of her classes, especially genjutsu and weaponry.
During her second year in the academy, Shuiro discovered her kekkei genkai. She had scraped her knee badly during training one day and was sent to the school’s infirmary to have it cleaned and bandaged. The nurse, without noticing, got some of Shuiro’s blood on her hand and left it on long enough for it to absorb into her skin. A few hours later, she came down with a terrible fever, chills and sweating included, and was dismissed for having a virus. The next day at school, it was reported that she would not be returning to the academy anytime soon due to blood poisoning. No one connected the nurse’s sudden illness to Shuiro’s wound until the next occurrence when Shuiro tripped while sparring, reopening her skinned knee. She was sent to the substitute nurse to have her knee re-bandaged and the same happened as last time. When the replacement nurse was sent home with the exact same set of symptoms, Shuiro was sent to the Konoha Hospital to be tested for any diseases. Her parents reminded the doctors of their daughter’s odd blood mutation, which was found to be, as the doctor present at Shuiro’s birth predicted, a kekkei genkai. The doctors told Shuiro and her frightened parents what her new power could do and how it was activated. The girl, the doctors explained, should not be allowed to make physical contact with others if she knew she had an open wound. At first, it was hard for the social little girl to keep her distance from her family and classmates, but she quickly learned.
Since the discovery of her kekkei genkai, Shuiro’s personality has not changed in the least bit. She’s still outgoing and warm, and talking is one of her favorite things to do. One of the only differences is that she now wears thin gloves that cover nearly her entire arm; these cover any wounds that she might have but are thin enough to be easily sliced open so that she can use her kekkei genkai if attacked. Also, if she knows she has even the slightest cut that has yet to scab over, she makes sure to stand an extra few inches away from her allies for good measure. Shuiro was promoted to chunin at the age of 13 and now specializes in genjutsu. She has developed several genjutsu and continues working to develop more.
Powers:
KEKKEI GENKAI
---Unnamed---
Shuiro’s blood is not any of the four types (A, B, AB, O) and is poisonous to others. This genetic trait manifests itself in the form of a new blood type and short-lived anemia. When Shuiro is injured so that she is cut or bleeds (red blood cells), she can use her blood as a poison. If her blood is allowed to absorb through the skin (takes about 30 minutes) or is ingested by another person (instantaneous), it will give them symptoms similar to septicemia (blood poisoning). After the first thirty minutes after contamination, fever and sweating, muscle pain, and nausea and vomiting are the first symptoms to show. In the three hours following the initial onset of symptoms, worsening fever, increased heart and respiratory rate, decreased blood pressure, and hemorrhaging will follow. The victim would have to clean the blood off with of their skin to prevent poisoning (water usually works, as long as the skin is rinsed within 30 minutes of contamination; after that, antiseptics or medical chakra may need to be used). While most non-ninjas and some low-level ninjas would not be able to figure out that they had been poisoned, many higher-level ninja could recognize the unusually quick onset of symptoms.
---Positives---
+can be fatal
+causes extreme pain and illness to the person being attacked
+her blood doesn’t present as an abnormal type to the human eye (it looks like normal blood) so it can be used without suspicion
+if Shuiro’s blood is spilled during battle, it will almost always end up on an enemy, so using the kekkei genkai is almost involuntary
+requires no chakra to use it
+an amount so small that it is not even visible is all that is required to cause severe sickness
---Drawbacks---
-Shuiro must be injured to use it
-It can be cured easily if the poisoned person or a medic notices the early symptoms and draws the poison out of their body with green (medical) chakra. (However, if the poison remains in the body for long enough periods of time, antibiotics or medical draining may be required.)
-Shuiro’s body does not produce red blood cells as fast as a normal person’s body, so using her technique may leave her weak or fatigued for a few hours
-strictly a short-range technique
-cannot absorb through clothing or armor
-once the blood coagulates and scabs over, it is harmless
GENJUTSU
Oketsu (Impure Blood)
Range: short (0-5 meters) to mid (5-10 meters)
Rank: B-rank
Type: supplementary/attack
In this genjutsu, Shuiro can make the victim believe that they are trapped in a deep well-like structure into which thick blood is seeping. The victim will find that the blood is much thicker than normal blood, much like quicksand in consistency. While trapped in the jutsu, the victim can only hear Shuiro’s voice, making this a good interrogative technique. If Shuiro allows the person to believe they are drowning, the victim might hold their breath until passing out (the jutsu would then be released.) Shuiro may simply choose to leave the person’s legs or feet trapped in the sludge, rendering them immobile.
Makura (Total Darkness)
Range: mid (0-5 meters)
Rank: C-rank
Type: supplementary
With this technique, the user is able to get out of any tight spot by casting an illusion on their enemy, forcing them to believe that they have been blinded. This technique is especially helpful when the user is low on chakra and is unable to defend himself from an attack.
Memai (Vertigo)
Range: close (0-5 meters) to mid (5-10 meters)
Rank: C-rank
Type: supplementary
Shuiro is able to make her enemy believe they are falling into a bottomless void. The opponent’s body will be rendered useless while they are in the illusion as if unconscious, making this technique strictly diversionary. Shuiro does not control how long the jutsu lasts; it’s dependent on the person waking up by himself.
Kishikan (Déjà Vu)
Range: close (0-5 meters) to far (10+ meters)
Rank: B-rank
Type: supplementary
The user of this genjutsu makes the opponent relive their actions for a certain amount of time. For example, Shuiro could force her enemy to believe that they are reliving their actions from the past five minutes. They would take the exact same steps, move their body in the exact same way, and say the exact same things as they had already done. This jutsu is often broken easily, as the teammates of the person trapped in the jutsu would almost instantly recognize the repetitious behavior.
NINJUTSU
Shinku Kiri no Jutsu (Crimson Mist Technique)
Range: close (0-5 meters) to mid (5-10 meters)
Rank: B-rank
Type: attack
This is used in junction with Shuiro’s kekkei genkai. After some of her blood is spilled, she is able to lift droplets of blood with her chakra, turning the pools into a poisonous mist. With her chakra, she is able to send the vapor where she wants it by moving her hands in that direction (same way as a puppet master controls puppets with chakra strings). She is NOT able to perform this jutsu with another person’s blood. Like with all of her blood techniques, this is a risk to use since it requires her own blood being spilled.
Shinku Kiri Kyoshu no Jutsu (Crimson Mist Defense Technique)
Range: close (0-5 meters) to mid (5-10 meters)
Rank: B-rank
Type: attack/defense
This is a jutsu that can be used after Shuiro uses the initial Crimson Mist Technique. After lifting enough blood with the first technique, she spins her body for two full revolutions. This allows her to make a dome of chakra and poisoned blood around her. She is able to keep the dome up for about two minutes because the mist is hard to control and it tends to re-pool.
Kai (Release)
Range: --
Rank: general ninja skill, but higher level
Type: supplementary
Allows the user to release himself or another person from a genjutsu.
Bikou Ninjutsu (Shadowing Stealth Technique)
Range: --
Rank: general ninja skill
Type: supplementary
Used for shadowing a target. Includes everything from invisibility to hiding under a nearby object.
Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone)
Range: --
Rank: general ninja skill
Type: supplementary
Creates a copy of the user with no substance. The copy resembles the user in every way, and if attacked, it will disperse.
*NOTE*
This is NOT the secret technique that Naruto uses (Multi-Shadow Clone), rather a much weaker and more common version of it.
Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique)
Range: --
Rank: general ninja skill
Type: supplementary
Allows the user to transform himself into any person or object.
TAIJUTSU
Shuiro does not have any specific taijutsu techniques, though her hand-to-hand combat usually involves her trying to get her blood on her opponent and then keeping them occupied while the blood absorbs into their skin and bloodstream.
Equipment:
• 10 kunai
• 15 shuriken
• 10 makibishi (ninja spikes thrown on the ground)
• 8 exploding notes (paper bombs)
• 20 exploding pouches
• 10 concealed mouth embers (activated by being bitten, they explode after the user spits them at a target)
• Soldier pills
• Ninja wire
Weakness:
(see specific weaknesses and weaknesses for kekkei genkai above)
Most of her attacks are short or mid ranged, so she has problems with long-range fighting. Because of her strange blood and the fact that she is not able to produce blood as quickly as normal humans, it is risky for her to use her kekkei genkai or other blood techniques.
**I’ll try to add more jutsu later, and I know there are a lot of problems with her right now. I’ll hopefully get around to working on that sometime this week.
And just for clarification, no the school nurses were not wearing rubber gloves. I know it’s unsanitary, but none of the medics on Naruto seem to wear them, so it’s feasible for my profile.**
