Name: Bardock
Age: 35
Gender: Male
Race: Saiyan
Alignment:Chaotic Neutral; while he does serve the Empire, as with most Saiyans he would abandon the Empire in a second if he found any alternatives to provide more perks than those the Empire provides.
Power Level: 7(low 8 in Super Saiyan)
Timeline: Modern/Futuristic
Appearance:
Hair: His oddly black spiked hair retains the equally odd Saiyan characteristic of defying gravity with impunity; in Super Saiyan form it abuses gravity even more, standing almost straight up and becoming a blonde light enough as to be considered platinum blonde or somesuch silly name.
Eyes: His eyes are a very dark brown, though they become a light green in Super Saiyan.
Skin: He is somewhat pale; this is one of the only traits to remain mostly unchanged as a Super Saiyan.
Build: He is fairly muscular, almost resembling an amateur bodybuilder. There is a somewhat perceptible "bulk up" when he goes into Super Saiyan.
Attire: He wears a somewhat customized suit of Saiyan armor(with the shoulder guards abandoned in favor of green "overalls of a sort) when they were still working for Freeza. It is blue where normally the armor would be a simple white, and green where the armor would normally be a light brown. The emblem of the empire appears prominently on the breast of the armor, as well as on the dark blue jumpsuit worn underneath. He wears a bloodstained headband and crimson wrist and leg warmers in memoriam to his fallen companions, with the headband meant to symbolize Toma specifically.
Height: Bardock is a good 5' 10".
Weight: He weighs 191.8 lbs.
Outstanding Features: Under his left eye he has a scar in the vague shape of an X. He also has a dark brown furred prehensile tail, though it usually spends most of its time wrapped around his waist.
One pic summaries: Base; Super Saiyan
Personality:
He is rather calm in comparison to most other members of his race, though, as with all Saiyans, it isn't overly difficult to excite/anger him. He finds it somewhat distasteful to kill those who can't put a proper fight, though he is willing to overlook this compunction if he believes it necessary to his objectives. Bardock, like many other Saiyans, has a healthy dosage of Saiyan pride and stubbornly refuses to accept the superiority of any other race, in any faculty, above his own. He also sees fighting, despite the brutality of his application, as a sport, and is eager to participate in his sport of choice.
History:
Bardock was born on the Planet Vegeta and proved to have a high enough power level that he was put into the rigorous training programs that all low-class Saiyans were put into at that time, and emerged assigned leader of a squad of other low-class Saiyan warriors and was sent off to begin conquering and selling planets, gaining a reputation for efficiency and tenacity.
And so it continued, until right about the period that the insurrection against Freeza's empire began; due to the reputation of Bardock's squad, they were sent to kill Dodoria, one of Freeza's officers. When they finally had him cornered on a planet, they set up camp, and formulated a strategy based around small raids to slowly whittle away their strategy and manpower until an all out assault could be mounted on Dodoria, and so they began, with individual members each making attacks on Dodoria's camps. Eventually time came for Bardock to make a raid, and he went out to hit a high priority target where a few of Frieza's elites should have been located. When he got there however, he found the camp abandoned and returned to camp puzzled as to why this would be. As the camp came into view, however, he learned why; they had all left to attack his own camp. As he explored the ruins, he found the corpses of his squad, eventually coming upon the remains of Tora, one of the members of the first few soldiers put under his command when he was still fresh out of camp, surrounded by the corpses of a few of the elites Bardock had left the camp intending to kill and clutching a bloodied headband. Removing the headband from his deceased comrade's grasp, he fastened it around his forehead, vowing to slaughter Dodoria for this deed.
Unfortunately for him, though, the Empire's generals had no intent of allowing him to do this, immediately taking him off the mission and putting him on indefinite leave, which infuriated Bardock greatly, and he made another silent vow to prove himself the better of the squad of elites that had been set as his replacements. Donning crimson wrist and leg warmers to serve as a constant reminder of what had been done to him and his squad, he put himself under a rigorous training program.
Eventually, the day came where the elites were to be sent off to finish the job Bardock started. Storming onto the scene, he immediately challenged the leader of the squad to a duel. While he was initially brushed aside, due to the normally vast power gap between elites and the low-class, Bardock was able to take this and twist into a trap for the elite squad leader, using the culture to ensnare him and force him into a duel. And so the attack was temporarily put on hold while the duel was held; a few of the generals that took him off the mission were in attendance, along with more than a few other unrelated Saiyans. And so, once the ceremonies had been finished, the duel began.
It was an absolute slaughter. Thanks to all the training Bardock had done, he ended up far outclassing the elite, and thoroughly beat him, ending the elite's life with a high power blast to the heart. The display he put on ended up being enough to cause the generals to reinstate him on the spot, giving him command of the squad of elites, and earning him a hefty degree of respect among many of the Imperial Army.
Again managing to track down Dodoria, he this time was able to go for a direct attack, as the war had been going on long enough that Dodoria no longer had the kind of troop power to cause unconventional strategies particularly necessary.
So they went with the simple attack method, and descended on Dodoria's force. Due to the fact that war had the side effect of weeding out the weaklings in the small horde assigned to Dodoria, the resistance put up by the remaining elites ended up being considerable enough that Dodoria was able to escape to his personal ship and begin takeoff procedures. When Bardock noticed this, it was just about all his Saiyan sensibilities could take. The loss of the opportunity to avenge his comrades, combined with the massive loss of honor that would occur upon failing twice in his mission, was enough to cause him to go right over the edge and explode into Super Saiyan. The power-up was enough to allow him to force his way into Dodoria's ship and strangle Dodoria to death with Toma's headband before the ship had even gotten off the ground. When confronted with the death of their leader, Freeza's forces were quick to surrender and swear allegiance to the Saiyan Empire.
Upon coming home with Dodoria's corpse, news of a transformation to Super Saiyan, and the large cadre of new recruits that were formerly some of Freeza's elites, Bardock and the squad of elites that had been attached to him at the time were promoted quite rapidly, and Bardock soon found himself a part of the elite forces sent to kill Cooler, Freeza's brother and one of the last remnants of Freeza's empire, again put in charge of a squad of elites.
During the long and grueling campaign that followed, Bardock spent so much time in Super Saiyan form that eventually soldiers and scientists that had observed Emperor Vegeta in the form began to notice distinct differences in Bardock's and the Emperor's transformations. These differences and the advantages they offered would eventually be a key factor in the engagements, allowing Bardock to wear down Cooler and personally execute Freeza's brother and deal one of the killing blows to the Empire.
Powers:
Relaxed Super Saiyan: The extended periods of time that Bardock was forced to spend in Super Saiyan eventually began to cause changes in what was recognized as the basic form; Bardock's demeanour was much more relaxed and rational than in the 'base' Super Saiyan' form, he was able to expend larger amounts of ki and take harder hits before being forced to revert to base due to exhaustion, and the form could be sustained for days on end. The basic aura also shows more wavelike characteristics, as opposed to the violently spiking aura of a regular Super Saiyan. The actual power increase is the same as that of a regular Super Saiyan.
Aura: As a result of the nature of the Saiyans' power , they can allow it to vent in the form of an aura surrounding their body; in base form, Bardock's is white, while in Super Saiyan it takes a golden color. The aura has no real power in and of itself(it can kick up some dust here and a pebble there), though its appearance is a sign of Bardock focusing his ki for attacks and is also a signal for his anger beginning to bubble over. It also appears when Bardock powers up to Super Saiyan, though not when he powers down.
Ki Manipulation: Manipulation of his ki allows Bardock the power of flight(with his max speeds being fairly fast in comparison to flyers at his power level) and the ability to fire blasts and beams of ki from his hands; the blasts, if given enough focus, can gain a rather limited homing ability. When he gears up for high speed flight, his aura flares up.
Attacks:
Spirit Sword: An attack Bardock created during his initial raids on Dodoria, it causes Bardock to create a blade of glowing yellow energy that can extend up to 7 meters; the blade has no proper handle, with it having a spherical point of origin around his fist; when it comes in contact with normal weaponry it passes right through as if the weapon was not there, as is the same with normal weaponry; it will, however, clash with energy based weaponry and attacks, as well as with magically enchanted weaponry. It doesn't have any explosive properties, though it will slice and dice people without overmuch trouble.
Final Spirit Cannon: An attack Bardock came up with during his first days of soldierdom, it is still his most powerful attack to date. In order to execute it, he focuses his energy into his right hand, forming a medium sized glowing blue sphere. He then chunks the sphere at his enemy, where it proceeds to take over and homes in on the target at high speed, exploding on contact.
Equipment:
Saiyan Armor: The armor granted to him as a soldier of the Empire functions as an uber-flexible vest of kevlar, and provides a reasonably adequate defense against pistol caliber bullets, though bullets and ordnance of higher caliber can penetrate it and do damage to his body without overmuch difficulty.
He also has a surgically applied pair of microcontacts placed on top of his eyes(behind and separate of the eyelids) that keep his body from absorbing Bruits Waves and becoming an Oozaru; they don't keep out water, and assuming one had the necessary precision, they could be destroyed without overmuch difficulty, though it's more than likely Bardock would be killed by whatever was shoved in his eye.
Weaknesses:
His ki abilities are rather sub-par in comparison to most of his peers, and when forced into such competitions can be overcome by enemies below his physical combat level.
His Saiyan pride can also come back to bite him in the ass as he can be goaded into fighting without much effort. He is also prone to underestimating his opponents even when there is moderately considerable evidence that would point to equal or even superior ability in the opposing force.
His tail is also rather sensitive, and though he has overcome the low class weakness of tail clasping, it is still much more susceptible to damage and pain than the rest of his body is.
