... about my lack of postage lately. I know I've done this times before... appearing and disappearing. However, this time, it's for personal reasons on top of everything else.
As a full-time college student with 17 credits (technically 18), I find myself buried under a load of work.
Also, my father is moving back from Italy, so I don't know how that is faring.
I've got two part-time jobs which BARELY support me, so it might be time for me to get a third to keep my head far enough above water that I have enough money spare to tend to any accidents that befall me.
My mother has decided to move in with her boyfriend, leaving me dragged along with that. Since the house is much smaller, I have to go through a lot of my stuff and throw away a lot of my things. Not to mention the annoyance and stress of packing away things and cleaning up. Luckily my room in the upstairs is cleaned. It's kinda an attic of the house, but it's separated into two rooms. I have my own technical "living area" and my own room, even if it is the "attic" of the house.
In addition, since I'm part of the local concert band and jazz band in the college, I'm out of the house a lot for performances.
I got saturdays taken up by lessons from a trombone teacher, since trombone is my main instrument and that will be instrument that'll be my ticket into college when I become a music education major.
I cannot go under full-time because my scholarship doesn't allow me to do so. Currently, my 17 credits allow me to go at only $54... and I'll be damned if I pass up an opportunity as good as this (it's free up to 15 credits, and for every credit past that is $27 each, up to 18).
There's also numerous personal and private problems that I will be attending to.
To be honest, I wish I could be more active here on the EAB. I never dreamed for one moment in my high-school life that college would be as hard as it is. To me, I always figured college was always as easy as high school was. I remember most of my classes (especially math), I slept in almost every-day and still aced tests (got 90's and 100's on tests and a very nice final grade for the courses). I never did study my work at all.
I find my lack of study habits are a REAL bite in the ass when I got to college.
So, I guess I'm also giving a message to all you high school students here. No matter how easy or simple the high-school work may be, do not slack. Do not procrastinate. Do your homework. Do it on time. Do it in a timely manner. Learn study habits and actually study even if you know the material. It couldn't hurt and it will really help your study habits.
I'm only sorry that I didn't take this advice myself when I was in high school. I find it pathetic, really... here I am sleeping in class a lot, graduating high school sixth in class with a GPA over 4.0, and yet I struggle.
So, all I can say to everyone is just do your homework and work on your work ethic. I promise you, it will be better in the long run.
Also, I'm really sorry to all the RP's I've joined. I really was looking forward to continuing my participation on them. Unfortunately, my lack of time has all but cut all of my creativity. Hell, the only reason I'm able to continue my fanfics is because of breaks between classes that I get on my laptop (and since there's no wi-fi, I can't get online). I don't know how much posting, if any, I can do on this forum.
I mean, even with spring break and semester breaks and summer breaks (which I may not have because I may be taking summer classes), I still have to help out around the house. Between chopping the firewood, dusting the house, vacuuming, doing laundry, cleaning the gutters... it's just left me with no real energy or anything.
Thank you everyone for the fun times I've had here. I'll try my very best to pop in on occasion and try to make a post. Until then, I bid you all adieu. *bows graciously*
