Post your favorite line from President Obama's inaugural address.
"People will judge you for what you can build, not what you destroy."
*hint hint wink wink Israel*

You do know like all political speeches they are made with roughly the same words and promises give or take the order of them. Right? RIGHT?
Go read other presidents' inaugural speeches and you'll see exactly what I mean. It's not hard to sling together a bunch of appealing words, its an entirely different matter to pull through on them.

As an author, you really fail to understand how important words are, both spoken and written.

"and the non-believers"
I've never heard a President even pretend to care about those without religion. o.o

As an author, you really fail to understand how important words are, both spoken and written. As a person you don't seem to understand that Obama is only human, he's as capable of doing great things as he is of making grave errors. :\ I understand if you're excited for the President but he wasn't the first good speaker nor speech writer. Try the other presidents and I'm sure you'll find some of them to be quite the orators and in some of the cases, terrible leaders.

Yes, I know he's only human and I know he's not guaranteed to make everything in the country perfect. As a matter of fact, I have some doubts as to how effectively he would use his position as head of state.
But I also know that he's a great speaker, and I've read speeches from past presidents, both the good and the bad, and I can tell you the current president is up there in terms of how he uses language, rhetoric, and emotion. However, that doesn't say anything about who he is as a politician, or even as a person.
I'm just saying, he's a really good orator.

Hmm... *looks up a little* As an author, you really fail to understand how important words are, both spoken and written. Yep, just sayin'. Now if you made a thread that covered all presidential orators, then we'd be talking fair ground.
