The woman did not speak as they made their way to the stables, and her footsteps made hardly a sound. In fact, Mechio might have thought she'd stayed back at the inn if it weren't for her commenting when the stable doors opened, "My, what an interesting creature that is..."
She strode out in front of Mechio, surveying the stables closely, from the strange rock-like material to the mossy substance in place of hay. The creature, too, earned a long look, and then she returned to Guerre, giving him another pat as he was led to his stall. "This will do, I think. We were prepared to travel to Frigus," She gestured to the blanket-like material draped over her steed, "So he should be warm enough. As long as the animal next to him does not become too active. Guerre is easily irritated, if not frightened." The woman chuckled, eying the black horse. As though in response, he snorted and tossed his mane.

Mechio secured Guerre comfortably into the respective stall. As he fixed his reins he nodded his head at the contrasting creature in the other stall, "Tabrin's laid-back and easy to get alon' with, she'll leave 'im well enough alone."
After double-checking his work he, oddly enough shifted his originally jovial tone to one that was far more secretive, like he was discussing something hotly taboo, "Miss, would you be interested in returnin' back home? You don't need to answer right away but you'll hafta make up your mind quickly about it. We're leavin' tomorrow mornin', to see the king. Norn permittin' it, we'll be able to set things right again."

"Would I be interested in returning home?" The woman's face did not change as she turned her head back to Mechio, though her voice became curious. "But of course I would! My Master is expecting me and to make him wait any longer than I have to would be a grave disservice. I still have many things to do, besides. There is the matter of the task I was given in Frigus, and of my work, and...well, I have many things to do. A quick return would be best." Her dark eyes swept over him and once again it seemed like her smile should have grown by the brightening of her voice. "Does your king harbor knowledge of dimensional travel?"

"I dunno if the king himself knows about that dimension travel you talked about, but someone on his council will, maybe the High Diviner or the Lady Seer. I know for sure the king is doin' what he can to fix all of this, he just hasn't had enough time..." There was a sprinkle of doubt as he winded down his words, but his confidence in his majesty was relatively solid.

The woman was silent for a long moment, her eyes and ever-present smile fixed on Mechio. "I see," She finally said, and inclined her head towards him. "Well then, I should like to accompany you on your journey tomorrow. Perhaps you can teach me about this place as we go, to pass the time." A thought suddenly struck her and she clapped, a delighted little cry of surprise escaping her. "Ah, and I haven't yet introduced myself! How very rude of me; I assume you would like to know such information if we are to be traveling partners. You are Mechio, correct? I am Miroir." The last sentence was accompanied by a strange, albeit graceful bow that looked like a cross between a curtsy and a salute.

He bowed hesitantly in response, a little wary because of how similar her name sounded to that of the Moire. "Think nothin' of it," he murmured before straightening up again.
"There are others as well, a young lad, Judas and an interestin' lookin' knight fellow, Rensik. They're in the same boat as you but they're sleepin' right now. As for about our kingdom and such, well..." He recapped what he had already told to Rensik and Judas as well as how they appeared. He informed her of all that he could remember from his previous explanations to the others about the creatures of the world, the condition of it and a rough verbal primer of the local beliefs of invisible forces at work within the kingdom.
The explanations apparently took a bit longer than Mechio had planned and after his long speech he realized that the first blue light of day was filtering in from the windows. Tabrin making a waking snort is what tipped him off of the waning night hour.
He scratched the side of his face nervously, if he could do so, he'd have probably been blushing, "Yea' well so much for that, it's...kinda mornin' now." He laughed uneasily and waved his hands back to the inn, "Shall we go see the others?"

"That would probably be best," Miroir replied, giving Mechio a nod. It was the first she'd spoken or moved since he'd begun his explanations. She'd remained standing quite still the entire time, her head tilted on one side and hands clasped gently in front of her, easily imitating some sort of statue or life-sized doll; if someone else had entered the stables during Mechio's speech, in fact, they would probably have mistaken her for one of the two. Her unchanging face certainly would have lent validity to the mistake.
Now that she had spoken she swept over to the stable doors, remarking, "Very, very interesting. Please, do not be embarrassed; your words have not fallen on deaf ears and everything you have told me will remain with me unless my Master tells me to forget. I must confess a fascination for it all. Perhaps on the way to the king you might tell me more, if there is more or if I find questions to ask?"

When they reached the room, Rensik was already awake, on the floor at the foot of his bed, a one-handed variation of push-ups, though what repetition he was on would be unknown to them, as he was counting to himself to keep from bothering Judas. In truth, he was nearing one hundred thirty. He would go to two hundred, like he had with his other arm and that would complete his morning exercises, as he has already completed the rest before they arrived.
In between repetitions, he greeted them. "Good morning." With one larger push than the others, he kicked his leg up and knocked it against Judas' bed. "Hey, kid," he called as he returned to the normal one-handed repetitions, "time to get up, Mechio's here and he brought company."

He'd been so comfortable stomach-down, pillow clutched with both arms to his face in dreamless sleep. Rensik's kick barely stirred him, but catching sight of a lady in the doorway did.
Judas opened his "good eye," self-consciously pulling the sheets up further though he was fully dressed. "H-hello?"

"Mornin' mornin gents," Mechio mumbled anxiously. "Didja sleep well I take it? Miss Mmiroir" he stumbled over the name, "appeared sometime during the night hour, she'll be accompanying us to the king's castle."
"I'm goin' to go make sure the supplies are in order, if you need anythin' to eat help yourselves," he pointed to a well-stocked bowl of what appeared to be roughly-cut opals but were implied to be fruit. He backed up quickly to the door and took a deep breath, what he appeared to be steeling himself for wasn't known, "I'll be in at the stables, meet me down there when you're ready, it's in the back. Miss Miroir knows where it is."
He shuffled out of the room, leaving them to wake or acquaint themselves respectively.

Rensik continued doing his push-ups as he informed them of his own addition to the group. "I met someone down by the square's fountain last night," he stated as he continued. "He wants to come with us. Doesn't have the same goals, but has his own business with the king and wanted me to help him train along the way. We'll need to swing by the fountain on our way out of town."

"Not the same goals?" Miroir took a moment to register this, then nodded. "So they must be a native? Or else someone in our shoes who wishes to stay here, though I assume the former." She swept over to the bowl Mechio had pointed out, taking one of the opal-like fruits in her hand and studying it. "How exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this place and learning all I can of it before I leave. My Master would surely love to hear stories of it when I return! He might even forgive me for being late and forgetting the Aranea!"
Her green eyes and unchanging smile lifted to Judas, then to Rensik. "You must be the knight fellow Mechio mentioned, and you," Back to Judas. "The young one. A pleasure to meet you both." Back to Rensik as she studied him doing his push-ups. "How long have you been at that, if I may inquire?"

"The push-ups?" he asked in response. "About half an hour." Despite the claim, he showed no sign that he was straining, and soon, wrapped the remaining set up. Once done, he stood and smacked his hands against one another, likely to return proper circulation after being in the same position for so long, then went to the bowl and scooped up one of the fruits. "And it's not really proper to call me a knight. Knights are sworn to a single entity or cause and usually remain centered around one place. I can't dedicate myself that way, not yet. Not until I get home." And with that, he popped the small fruit into his mouth.

"I see," The woman replied with a slight nod. She eyed the fruit again, turning it over in her hand as though looking for any flaws in its surface. "Knight-like, then, perhaps. Where is your home?"

"Illinois," Rensik answered as he moved back over to the window and looked out at the view. "I just keep hopping through weak points between dimensions until I find one that leads me home. It's all I really can do. Sometimes, I land in worlds that are close, sometimes really close, but I haven't found the right one yet."
