Medieval weaponry? He echoed with a tint of boredom.
"Would it be preferable if I did not attempt to break their tools then? If the weapons are what I think they are, they'll be in for a nasty surprise. Also, I know your resources are pressed as is, but do you have any spyglass-?" He reevaluated his request, especially given the alleged time-period, "Something that can view things in the far distance?"
Considering how rarely he sniped things, it would prove for an interesting game if the viewer was available to him. Even if it wasn't the set-up seemed underwhelming, but he knew better than to let descriptions fool his expectations. His mind also vaguely wondered if he should have sent Agari scouting for the alleged catapults, but at the same time it felt like something that would have sucked the fun out of the game.
For now he simply browsed through a mental catalog of what form of shadow would be best for taking down the impending forces, a simple whirlwind of appendages or blades or some form of corporeal nightmare? Decisions decisions.

Kagetsuki responded to Melina's bow with a smile that did not quite reach her eyes, any self-satisfaction that might have been had from a human's deference lost in her sour feelings towards the overall situation. At the very least this human knew her place, but one was nothing compared to the rest of the primitives and her teammates. Nor did she very much appreciate having her thoughts invaded, though that was the way with most seers she'd met. The date, however...that was of note. Thirty-five thousand years. What had her people been doing thirty-five thousand years ago?
When the answer hit her, her reaction was immediate. Violet eyes widening and face paling just slightly, the demon queen mouthed a series of words that was entirely foreign to any of the others present. Roughly translated, they would mean something along the lines of The Vermin Masters. Her mouth seemed almost to reject mouthing them, though, for it twisted in disgust as she did so and when she was done she bared her teeth in a feral snarl, spitting, "Nkhasun! The Slavers!"
She fixed her gaze on Melina, her harsh eyes boring into the woman as she demanded, "Seeress, read my thoughts and tell me if they are true--is it them?! Are they here?!"

"If you must break them," Jorken answered the sorcerer, "then do so, but we do not have this spyglass, or any other device to view distances. We utilize our scouts to triangulate our fire." Such advanced strategy wouldn't have been unheard of to the modern soldier, as such was the method used by battleships when the sea battles raged further than the curvature of the sea permitted visual confirmation, though it might have surprised them that such a so-called "primitive" culture was utilizing it thirty-five millennia beforehand.
Meanwhile, Melina answered the ookitsune queen. "The beings you picture run at the forefront of our enemy's forces. Those they kill, they sever trinkets from."

"Care to fill us in?" Turning toward Kagetsuki, he gaver her a questioning glance. "I may be wrong, but I think knowing a little about our enemies would help everyone's individual planning."

Epic True listened to the advancements with no input of her own, focusing her flaming eyes instead on her iron hands, fidgeting, then actually unscrewing the tip of her left pinky. Taking the little stick of iron between her forefinger and thumb, she offered the part to Ivan. Upon inspection, the magician would find that it was the spyglass he requested, well collapsed.
"I wa-ant that back after this era, oka-ay?"

He honestly could only blink at being given what he'd requested, he smirked at the offer and gladly took it, lightly tapping his head with the tip of the spyglass, "Can do."
The talk of how the cavemen coordinated their attacks was surprising but nothing more. The talk of "trinkets" interested him to an extent, he'd keep an ear about as he did other things. He was more interested in the upcoming forces, so he opened the viewer and started to survey whatever was in the distance...

Kagetsuki had turned away from the group, however, likely to compose herself so as not to show undue emotion to the humans. She stood very still, almost rigid with tension, not even her wings moving to show irritation; her thoughts, however, were rife with rage and chaos.
Them. It was them! Nkhasun, The Slavers, the Despised! Her people's greatest enemies, who in the far past had held them as pets and committed atrocities uncountable against them. What was Kali planning, sending her this far back in time? Normally she would name the situation a coincidence and nothing more--but there were no such thing as coincidences when dealing with demons of Kali's rank. Especially Kali's rank. No, sending her to this time period had very obviously been a calculated move, only the purpose of it unclear. Did he mean to somehow humiliate her, perhaps having her fight against the enemy of her people and losing? She wiped the thought away the moment it rose from the depths of her unconscious--she would not lose to them. The very idea brought a sick feeling to her stomach, a bitter taste to her mouth. Besides, she hesitated to think Kali wanted her humiliated. It was entirely possible, of course; he was the son of an expert liar who could make anyone think he favored them. She merely hoped it wasn't the case, that the favor he seemed to show her was authentic.
Turning back to Melina and the others with a heavy breath, now, the demon queen finally deemed to answer Toriji's question. Her voice was flat and carefully controlled, but loud enough that everyone could hear if they so chose. "The time period we are currently in contains my race's greatest enemies." She failed to mention that her people had once been slaves. "There are very little of them remaining in our time, but they once held dominion over a sizable portion of Hell. They are very...extravagant," This word was spat. "So the fact that they collect trinkets from those they kill--locks of hair, fingers, eyes, what have you--is not surprising in the least."

As he scanned the horizon with few results, he took to examining the tool itself and obnoxiously sliding it open and closed in lieu of other battle preparations.
"So, should these despicables be kept alive, or is that too great of a risk?"

"You must remember they are hellspawn. No offense Queen Kagetsuki. I think it'd be in our best entrance not to leave any alive if we can help it." Returning to his plotting he scratched his chin when a thought came to his mind. "Why not a counter assault? I could mount a little pressure for the incoming so you could all prepare for at least a little longer. Anyone disagree with that?"

The magician openly shrugged, "I'm good, but I can't speak for everyone." He mentally tagged on God, this kid and every turn of the conversation. When's the first enemy scout going to appear? I need some target practice.
Accordingly, he kept eying the still-clear horizon expectantly.

"Did you mistake me?" Kagetsuki turned her gaze on Toriji, raising an eyebrow and glaring. "I said nothing about keeping the vermin alive; I would have thought my tone alone was enough to let you know I want them all dead. All of them, dead! Drown them in their own blood, choke them with their innards, just leave none. Alive!"
The queen hissed, turning away from the group again and breathing deeply. She was shaking in fury and put two fingers to her temples, something that must have been a calming exercise, for the next time she faced them again her face was back to its normal, careful blankness. Perhaps Kali had sent her here to change the past? She doubted it--time meddling was a well-known dimensional crime--but there was always the possibility. Perhaps, she thought with grim satisfaction, he had sent her there to glory in the deaths of the Nkhasun.
"As for your plan, Prince," She added smoothly, "I've a feeling the humans will have something to say about it." Cleverly keeping her own opinion to herself, she shot the aforementioned humans an expectant look.

"You might have seen how small our village is," Jorken answered the bone demon. "It was once far larger, but this war has been one of heavy attrition on our side. We do not have the numbers to mount a counter-assault, particularly not against a force as he is bringing to bear now. We will need all arms to defend what little we have left."

"Actually," Toriji turned his head away from them. "It's King since my last encounter with Kali. and I never said anything about taking the humans with me. I'll mount one all by my lonesome." Quickly whipping his entire body around he held up his index finger on his right hand. "I'm sure that's odd for anyone to want to do, but you see I have a weakness for showing off so long as it won't cause any harm. And thus I have my own army to send on the counterattack." Clapping his hands together he loudly exclaimed two odd, choppy little words, "Rin, Cho!" As if on command a large bank of what appeared to be smoke covered the land directly behind him where there was apt room to hold his army, and once the smoke cleared it was revealed to all what his plan actually was. Behind him stood an army of exact replicas of the original Toriji numbering easily into the five hundreds. "Ta-da! My plan. I'll send these little fodderlings to slow their advance. I can always make more, so in case they put up more of a fight that I expect, I'll just call up some reinforcements. This will aslo give me insight into how powerful the enemies we will be facing are. So... What do you all think of that plan?"
[I'm not afraid to edit this... just let me know if I need to tone it down or something like that...]

[Not infinite...I never said that. Five-hundred is child's play. Even more so when you add in the fact that a mortal blow dispells them.]
