Actions are being taken to tip the balance of power in the world. The wormhole has been a success and we are expecting our "guests" to arrive shortly. It is a shame that we have reached a point in which no force in our world, even myself, can repair the chaos that engulfed it.
When I first started, I was a member of the Global Forces military. I have been following orders with little regard to the consequences. I had no reason to concern myself with the causes and consequences. Surely those higher in the hierarchy had some information I had no access to, perhaps something that drives them to cold, brutal efficiency in destroying those who threaten them.
Do not take me for a brute, or a cold-blooded animal. I prefer you take me as a professional. A tactician of high creativity, scope and efficiency. As a matter of fact, I was the best they had. Until they took away the one person who meant most to me. Now I work alone, taking orders from nobody.
They have come after me, that was to be expected, and so predictable. Without me, they lost an asset. Now I will ensure that the pain in the world during these chaotic times be minimized and targeted at those who would otherwise inflict pain on others.
I am not here to extract revenge. I despise such petty concepts which only succeed in revealing one's weaknesses and insecurities. That would make me vulnerable to those who wish me harm.
I am not here to fulfill a prophecy. I am not a savior of mankind, nor am I chosen by anyone but myself, to fulfill what I believe nobody else is capable of doing. To rely on otherworldly prophecies would distort my expectations and sense of reality.
I am not here to create an ideal world to my liking. That is something for philosophers to bicker upon and for dictators to end millions of lives in hope of improving the world they live in. Idealism is a path of self-destruction.
What I am, is a disappointed man looking to find peace in a chaotic world. I have suffered loss, but it does not cloud my judgment. I have suffered disappointment, but it has only strengthened my resolve.
The chaos will have to end, and I will see that it does.
