It's a dark night when Gotham's caped crusader brings in his arch-nemesis, the Joker, to Arkham Asylum once more, and will grow darker still before he leaves. Joker has set plans in motion to bring the entire island under his control and bring an end to his rival once and for all with the help of the insidious Project Titan taking place deep in the bowels of Arkham. The Dark Knight will travel through barren caves, old aqueduct systems and the dark halls of madness, themselves, to bring in Joker and his host of Blackgate henchmen before they unleash unspeakable chaos on all of Gotham.
Storyline: 10/10
An incredible story that unravels with wonderful smoothness as you progress through the game, as well as being augmented by audio tapes concerning the various inmates and dozens of other little environmental traits, like televisions playing advertisements for the institution and even riddles from the Riddler. The lines from the Joker are classic and it's just as enjoyable to listen to his taunts to Batman as it is to listen to the way he "encourages" his henchmen. The game is full of moments you'll be sucked into.

Beautiful. Absolutely stunning. Everything from waterfalls to plants to henchmen to chattering wind-up teeth to Harley's corset to Killer Croc's shining scales, it's all wonderfully painted and portrayed. Even Batman's signature suit is done in great detail, and takes on greater and greater damage as the story progresses.
Sound: 10/10
Again, a wonderful portrayal. The Joker's constant taunts, the high-strung twang of Harley going, "Just leave it ta me, puddin'," the Riddler's lines, everything's done wonderfully. Even the henchmen have lengthy conversations that you can sit back and listen to if you feel so inclined. And, of course, there's the little things that really add to it, like the whistle of the batarang or the zip of the batclaw. Every auditory facet is reproduced with loving dedication.
Control & Interface: 10/10
The controls are smooth, so long as you don't try to play it for 50 hours straight. I confess, I began to have some trouble pulling off even basic stuff around that point. Gaming-induced insomnia aside, everything goes together excellently. Menus are all compact and together, and pulling off Batman's skills in battle are a breeze and you'll find yourself hammering one guy in the face before countering another guy who tried to club you from behind, elbowing him in the face and then spinning around and roundhousing him, then throwing three batarangs at another group all in one beautiful string. And let's not forget the classic inverse takedown, hanging from an object, then swooping down to snatch an unsuspecting goon up and stringing him from a cable! Fun, fun, fun!
Replay: 10/10
Like a good movie is worth watching again, you'll find yourself coming back to play through it again just to see the great scenes all over again. Besides this, there's 240 "riddles" to solve and drive the Riddler batty in the process, as well as a dozen challenge maps that focus on your ability to be stealthy and in melee combat. A nice versus mode would have really set it off nicely, though, methinks.
Overall: 10/10
An incredible game! If you're in any way a fan of Batman, you HAVE to get this game! The detail, the commentary, the scenes, it's all an awesome experience, and a wonderful addition to the Batman universe!
