2008.
An historic year every nation on Earth will remember. We saw the first black President of the United States, a major economic crisis with worldwide repercussions and more violence in the Middle East.
We will all have our good and bad memories of this year, but we should move on. With Christmas behind us, we should look at the future. Virtually everybody is trying to get on TV to share their two cents on what they believe will happen next year.
I wonder what you believe will happen in the coming year. Go ahead and make your predictions. Good or bad, it doesn't matter. What major events will we all witness before next Christmas?

Less celebrities dying. My god, 2008 was the worst year for celebrity deaths.

My one and only prediction for 2009:
1. FC Kaiserslautern to win the 2. Bundesliga title and win promotion to the Bundesliga again.

It'll be the same as last year, give or take if the government fixes the economic problem (one that I don't expect to be fixed unless by some grand epiphany that is expertly executed, but again this is highly unlikely).
I also expect a rise in crime for some reason OR an increase in charities overall.

My predictions for myself: 1. I will loose the the College Bowl Mania's 250,000$ contest, and still not win anything, because I never win anything. 2. I will still be a poor and jobless college student.
My predictions for everyone else: 1. All the Jackholes of the world will do well and the nice, kind people will die. (It's too true) 2. Someone's government will screw up.

Well I read online awhile back that some people are predicting a Zombie outbrake of some kind. I found this to be funny at first and then my dad bought me the "Zombie Survival Guide" for X-mas. Now I'm starting to think he knows something and he's not telling me (Note: EJP's dad is not a sercret agent or anything but just happens to know more about military experiments going on then the current U.S. president).
Anyway, I'm predicting I'll get a real job this year and not just a temp job. However I may get another temp job because boring tiresome grunt work tends to find me and the money is good.
As for other things I'm predicting Gas prices will go up further than before, a so called "Government conspriacy" will happen that involes Obama, Congress will still be run by corrupt people who should be locked up, and my sister will still be a bitchy self centered slut who Ninmast wants to date (JOKING about the Ninmast part.).

A prediction for myself
I'll graduate, and thus begin my life as a broke college student, like most, if not everyone on here.

My prediction for 2009: My car will have yet ANOTHER major repair that needs to be done, Anime Boston 2009 will be a BLAST, AnimeNEXT 2009 will be hectic, Otakon 2009 will be awesome as always.
... uh, Obama will be an okay president.
... um, I'll still have all three of my part-time jobs.
... my financial aid will be cut next school year (fall '09) 'cause of my mother's possible pay raise.
I'll still be on the NJ STARS scholarship.
Umm... and I'm probably going to drop one of my instruments (two trombones, bass trombone, two trumpets, oboe, clarinet, guitar) at least once.
Oh, and I'll finish my deck IRL in Magic. Hell yeah, red burn deck with a kickass plainswalker!

I predict that everyone I know that has made at least five New Year's Resolutions will break at least one by the end of the year.

I predict us Americans will realize we got the wool pulled over our eyes when Pres Obama redeploys everyone who came from Iraq right into Afghanistan; I find an annoyingly large margin of people don't realize that he supports increased numbers in Afghanistan.
I also predict that the recession will turn into a depression in America; I think it'll be short, but still a depression. Hopefully I'll be able to get a job of some sort before everything goes south. I use as evidence the fact that the Republican party seems to be blocking the stimulus package more on principle than anything else.

Or perhaps they're blocking it because it would do nothing but blow more money out the smokestacks and accomplish absolutely nothing? Nah, Republicans are dumb, evil egomaniacs, they couldn't have the brains or moral standing to stand up for us like that.
I predict, however, that the Democrats will push it through, anyway, and Japanese Nation may very well become reality.
