I have the PC version and 4 different expansion packs for it. Me and my dad have been playing it on the joint-account (the only one my dad will let anyone make at my house) known as Pedenskijr . We've played a lot of multi-player, and I can say one thing: my dad makes a sailor look like a little kid learning his first bad word. Its mostly the whole "higher rank=better everything" thing. Anyone playing constantly 24/7 gets a high rank, apparently giving them notably more health and damage. Then there's the whole "invincibility roll" from Baator...

This is a bit of a threadjack, but what would be better to look into, Modern Combat or 2142?

I only know about Modern Combat. Hey, N4, you have 2142? Is it worth it?

an actual singleplayer? Battlefield 2: MC. 2142 just has a singlplayer that you can practice in, from playing N4's copy.

I've recently been playing on-line with 2142, and there is a butt-load more of customization than in BF2. The Titan mode is pretty cool, if you know what you're doing... If you got a new guy, I suggest you stay outa that for a bit. Your starting equipment sucks, and everybody's already unlocked something cool and powerful. The weird thing is, based on what upgrades you get for the four base classes (anti-tank, assult, recon, and engineer) said classes can evolve into others, such as assult to medic. The biggest difference EA has made (customer-support wise) is an incredible new feature: one "account" can have multiple "soldiers" (guys you play as)! You will know how much of a relief that is if you've been stuck with a crappy name to your only e-mail address on BF2. *grumbles* Oh, and the mechs are pretty cool till you meet the EMP 'nade spammers. Then they become your coffins.
Otherwise, yeah, I think its worth it if you play a lot.

I haven't played enough to rank up yet. I probably wont though, as for some reason the C4 keeps calling me back to Jalalabad in BF2...

I was at my most frequented server today, a =LoW= server for Jalalabad and Karkan, and I discovered the next cool thing to likely impress Game Maker:
Vehicle drop kills!
You become CO of your team, find a happless person standing around and doing nothing, and order a vehicle drop on them. I've done this to moving people, to. Its fun, but supply drops are far too inaccurate to land on someone. Its possible, but for me its is by luck alone. Vehicle drops are very accurate, but other nearby drops or vehicles on the ground can screw them up.

Nope. Its a new CO power from the some official expansion pack. I'm thinking either an update or Armored Fury.
