Clan Illusions is, all things considered, a clan of young people. Their youthful exhuberance gives them an energy and vibrance that seems to make paths for them. Headed by Lucas Zwingley, who was actually from the real world of St. Ivalice and was pulled in with everyone else, they quickly became a powerful clan that made it their goal to make sure the future was one they would be proud of. With Lucas gone, returning to St. Ivalice, the clan continued to do their best from their base in Cadoan.
Name: Marcus
Race: Hume
Appearance: Marcus is a handsome young man in his teens with a solid, if lean, build. He doesn't wear quite traditional blue mage attire, though what he does wear he keeps immaculate. Keeping to the regal blue color scheme, he foregoes the floofy hat traditional of the role, of the opinion that giving your enemy a bigger target to aim at is just asking for an arrow through the head. Instead, he keeps his shoulderblade-length hair tied with a royal blue ribbon, a suggestion made by a Viera he encountered once on a dispatch mission. He keeps a half-cape of royal blue trimmed in white, blue cloth pauldrons and his frock is blue with white fur over his more traditional blue top and airy leggings tied with a sash underneath. The sash also doubles as his sheath and his saber hangs from it, causing the sash to tilt to one side, a look he likes.
Personality: Marcus is a gambler at heart with a love of life and taking everything it throws at him with a grin on his face. He's fondest of grand, showy displays that impress the largest number of people and takes great joy in stirring awe in others. He is, at his heart, a showman first and foremost.
Background: Marcus was one of the first people to meet Lucas in Ivalice. Roughly the same age as Lucas, he was a petty thief and street urchin who had come to the lost boy's aid when some other thugs thought to rough him up for any gil he might have - a word Lucas was originally clueless about - for popping into their territory. His immediate impression was that he was dealing with a complete loon, an impression he claims to still hold, albeit with a much friendlier connotation. Back then, however, Lucas was a boy without the most common of knowledge. Clans, Judges, Battle Laws, magic ... He knew none of it. But he did have an amazingly natural sword arm. Marcus theorized after the two of them had knocked the other thugs silly that Lucas was a son of some noble family that had contracted amnesia and run away. Until Lucas informed him that he was actually from another world. Then Marcus subbed delusion in for the amnesia.
Nevertheless, Lucas was the first person to really give Marcus a dose of morality when he questioned why, with such power in this world, Marcus contended himself to live in the conditions he was in. It was such a simple suggestion, one which Marcus tried to stamp out in his own head with what he told himself was common sense, but Lucas' incessant sense of hope was surely viral. When Marcus explained clans to him, the alien came up with a solution as simple as the question he had raised: They would start their own clan. Why not? There was nothing really necessary for doing so, and really, it was a statement of intent if nothing else. No longer to be content with what scraps life decided to throw their way, they'd move to establish a future that they could be more proud of than the dirty streets of the present. Thus Marcus became the first member of Clan Illusions, a name he was actually the one to suggest. Illusions were what people called what they could see but couldn't reach. They'd take those illusions and make them reality.

Name: Sergei
Race: Bangaa
Appearance: A bangaa with a dusty desert red hide, he's markedly the oldest member of the clan, with a rugged though not yet wrinkled (for a bangaa) visage. He proudly wears the armor of the templars and always keeps his gear pristine, oiled and shined. Never is he seen anywhere without it, head held high and proud. His platinum helm follows the slope of his nose, his dragon mail largely hidden behind his blue cloak that wraps over his pauldrons to close around him. He always keeps his trident at the ready beside him, only setting it down when he, himself, does so to sleep.
Personality: Honor is paramount to Sergei and power is necessary to uphold it. His classes of choice reflect this and he has studied previously both as a monk and a dragoon, the former in religious dedication that he still carries to this day and the latter in service and memory of his people. He is loyal and steadfast, never hesitating, never retreating, and never giving an inch in battle that he doesn't make the enemy pay for in blood.
Background: Sergei was something of a veteran already when Lucas and Marcus encountered him. He saw potential in the boys when they rushed to his aid believing he required it, but found Marcus' seemingly careless attitude disgusting. He took a shine to the open-hearted Lucas, or "Squire" as he called him for quite some time, though, and it was he who encouraged the hume to take the path to the virtuous Paladin. He joined Clan Illusions in the name of seeing to the boys' training and stayed on long after.

Name: Seisha
Race: Viera
Appearance: Seisha's is a look both intimidating and sexy. Her midnight-black bodysuit hugs every stunning curve while her katana rests in an equally black sheath on her back, always at the ready for another life. The only time the black, airy cloth wrapped across her lower face for concealment lowers is to eat, and her vivid, golden eyes make a piercing stare over their top. Her silver hair is cut into a short, messy style that outlines her face while the silver tiara her Azure Tear sits in holds it out of her vision.
Personality: The initial impression this assassin makes is one of cold, standoffish detachment. Nothing gets her worked up, nothing stirs complaint, nothing seemingly gets any sort of response out of her at all. She keeps whatever emotions she feels locked away very tightly and takes whatever is given to her without comment.
Background: Seisha was hired by another, wealthier clan to assassinate the head of Clan Illusions when they started causing trouble and impeding the less-than-ethical workings of the larger clan. When she was stalking Lucas to study her prey, however, she witnessed him helping a little girl, taking time to do a long list of things, finding her missing puppy, getting her something to eat, bandaging a wound she got ... The girl had sprained her ankle when he had first found her, so he spent the entire day carrying the child around, all without so much as a word of complaint and nothing but smiles.
She had put off striking to spare the child, but as the day was coming to a close, he finally got the girl home and when he was alone again, she presented herself to him, informed him of her mission and proceeded to attack. She felt that after such a good deed, he at least deserved for death to meet him face to face rather than in the back. Instead, he defeated her. He actually drew it out, trying to convince her not to, and when she finally left him with no other choice, he gave her one firm bash upside the head and sent her sprawling.
Humiliated, she demanded that he finish it or she would kill him outright. He told her (in no way mocking) that she should go ahead and do it, then, because he wasn't and never would be a killer. He gave her a potion instead and left her there.
Twice more, she would watch him from the shadows, twice more she would witness his kindness to others, and twice more she would attempt to complete her mission, the last time attempting to go for one quick, surprise strike, but stopped short when he did so to, of all things, help a cat out of a tree. Not oblivious to the corniness, but nonetheless touched, she never finished that strike, and he would never know it had ever even happened at all.
Later that night, when the head of the clan sent his heavies to find out why she had yet to complete her job, she answered them with her blade in an instant, then explained the response to them post-humously with, "Our contract is canceled."
The head sent out his entire clan in force to try to squash Clan Illusions and she joined the battle to aid Lucas and has remained a clan member ever since.

Name: Mimoze
Race: Viera
Appearance: Mimoze has all of the curves traditional of her kind covered but not hidden by a lavender spaghetti-strapped dress with a full slit skirt, a tailored version of her Ever Robe to allow optimum mobility. Her hair, as well, is a dusty lavender and flows free and thick before tapering to a point at the small of her back. Her ribbon decorates the right side of her head but doesn't actually restrain any hair.
Personality: Mimoze enjoys a challenge and believes that style and showmanship is just as important as power and that technique doesn't exist at all without them. She scoffs at those overcompensating with heavy weapons who hide behind their heavy armor, because she knows she will simply dance about them and her rapier will pierce their shell like a fang into flesh.
Background: Mimoze was a tournament fighter before joining the clan. She took it up solely for the purpose of getting extra gil to help out her mother in the family bakery to try to help make meet ends that were seeming further and further apart every month. When she met and lost to Lucas in the tournament before getting anywhere near a rank to earn any prize money, she took it pretty hard. Lucas found out and went on to win the tournament, but gave her both the prize money and the additional amount necessary to pay off what her mother owed. He figured it was just one more good deed and that he'd probably never see her again, but the next day, she was waiting outside of his tent with her things packed, saying that she now had a debt to repay to him, and since the funds ensured her mother wouldn't need her assistance, she was going to repay it by joining his clan. She wouldn't take no for an answer and refused at any time, no matter what funds were brought in, to accept that debt was paid in full.

Name: Fanara
Race: Viera
Appearance: Fanara is very soft-featured, without the edges of being hardened by combat or violence. She is always happily smiling at others, but is not yet to the point where she would have "laugh lines." She keeps her unassuming hair neatly combed and presentable, but not presumptuous, and dresses very conservatively in her healer's robes.
Personality: Motherly is the first word that comes to mind for describing Fanara. She is very doting on others and is always worried if they're not in tip-top condition. She's even been known to insist on a scarf for Sergei even though he's technically cold-blooded. She enjoys baking and is often the de facto head chef for the clan.
Background: Fanara's joining the clan was less eventful than some. Her temple was attacked by pit monsters and Clan Illusion drove them off. Upon discovering that Illusion lacked a dedicated healer, they offered to provide one in thanks. Fanara has been with the clan ever since.

--------------------
Name: Ashara
Race: Viera
Appearance: In direct opposition to Fanara's conservatism, Ashara seems to go out of her way to show as much as possible while staying traditional to the appearance of the black mage. She wears her black robes light and sashed firmly about her waist to show off its waspish dimensions before allowing the bottom half to open, revealing her long legs and stiletto heels. Her ashen hair fits well and falls so long that it doesn't taper out until the backs of her knees and her robe top is left loose to show off her racially generous bosom.
Personality: Most of the other girls would call her a harlot. She prefers socially nonconformist. She likes showing what she has, both physically and talentwise, and always seems comfortable in any social setting regardless of the conditions. She can be rather arrogant when it comes to both her beauty and her magic, and is fond of informing doubters of the latter with live demonstrations that just because it isn't typical for a Viera to take up black magic, that doesn't mean it's wise to doubt the power of their dedication.
Background: Ashara is truly one that Lucas never saw coming. Their only encounter prior to her enlistment was little more than a passing in the street that he scarcely took notice of. She noticed, though. She noticed that though he glanced and nodded to her politely, his eyes never went anywhere a man's usually went. Certainly, this wasn't the first time, but usually, it was a tense evasion. With him, it was almost as if he hadn't seen at all.
That drove her batty. Even though he had left town, she went around trying to find out anything she could, and when she found out what clan he was with, she tracked that down, too. When she finally arrived, however, they were out on business. So she helped herself in and helped herself to their booze. By the time they got back five hours later, there was a wasted viera mage sitting on a barstool behind the counter with one leg propped up on the counter for the world to see, mumbling something about how Shiny was gonna see her, Exodus-damn-it.
So far, the other Viera have tried to get her to leave, Marcus hasn't been eager to see her leave and Lucas is left with little to do but try to stay out of the way of her amorous advances in the meantime.

Name: Maella

Her strip of Ryozan cloth wraps around her, swirling and eddying when she dances, while her TipTapTwo rests in an ornate wrought iron and rose quartz sheath.
Personality: Maella enjoys crowds immensely, she enjoys seeing the faces of the children light up, she enjoys listening to the adults cheer. Fortunately, to her, all of the world's a stage. She went to special effort to learn not just entertainment steps but the battle dances of old to make this really true, and nothing gives her more satisfaction than seeing the enemies stop dead in their tracks just for watching her.
Background: Her joining was a little more standard than some of the others. She had been working with a traveling troupe to fine-tune her dancing skills when they were attacked and kidnapped by highwaymen. When they didn't show for their performance, a job was sent out to find out what happened. Clan Illusions picked it up and headed out. The rescue was successful and her teacher encouraged her to go with Illusions, as their real-world experience would be better for improving her dance steps.

Name: Allosette
Race: Viera
Appearance: Dressed in the light, unhindering greens of the forest, Allosette's shapely, deeply tanned form blends in with the nature around her on the hunt, camoflauging her from her prey. Matching the ornate nature of her greatbow, a sheath of arrows rests across her back, their feathered posteriors reaching up over her right shoulder. The goddess' bustier she wears about her chest is deceptively defensive as it simultaneously accents a waist so narrow and bust so generous that she is, regardless of intention, the living representation of why hume women despise the Viera figure.
Personality: Allosette is fond of the quiet peace of nature, and could happily spend all day perched up in a tree without ever having anything to draw an arrow for. She is not a softy, however. A natural predator, when she does spot her prey, she spends no time debating the morality of it, and her keen eye and penchant for preparing with height advantages in mind mean that her target rarely gets the benefit of response.
Background: When Seisha failed to assassinate the leader of Clan Illusions, Allosette was hired to both finish her job and eliminate her for her hubris in slaying the wealthier clan's men. Unlike Seisha, who has trained herself to be a cold-blooded, unfeeling killer, however, Allosette accepts jobs for the challenge. At the time, she had not considered the young up-and-coming knight a worthy target, but Seisha was fairly well-known and caught the girl's interest.
She hunted them for some time, but quickly realized a disturbing fact - she seemed incapable of sneaking up on them. The first time she discovered this, it was actually Lucas that mentioned it, offering, as nonchalantly as if she were with the group, herself, what she wanted to eat when they were ordering.
She tried other routes, attempting to sneak up on Marcus (who, in some trick to this day she has yet to figure out, actually made off with the shirt off her back instead) and then on Sergei (who promptly pinned her to a wall with his trident). Other events involved their mage trying to fry her (not for sneaking around, but because, during a spout of pouting drunkenness, she declared the busty huntress to be "distracting Shiny") and Mimoze nearly skewering her through the abdomen. Allosette was by no means a poor hunter, but for a nobody clan, they seemed unusually adept.
Steadily, the clan seemed to take her presence progressively for granted, to the point where greeting her in her morning hiding spots (no matter where she tried to make them) became as common as getting their morning peaberry tea. Though she had, to that point, not taken any actually aggressive action, she told herself that this expectation could work to her advantage. That was an advantage, however, she never actually took, and the day she realized Fanara had set a place for her at the evening meal, she realized that at some point along the way, her contract had been left behind.

Appearance: Maella's ensemble resembles an Arabian Belly Dancer outfit, emphasises on reds, particularly ruby, and her dusty rose hair adds to it, worn short in front but in a long tail in the back.
