Full Name: Ruina Vhaal, Imperial Inheritor and Dark Empress of the Shirkon Nebula
Despite similarity to words in English, to the Ancients, her name actually means Beautiful Petal.
Age: Hundreds of thousands of Earth years, but has spent much of it in stasis. Physically resembles a woman in her very late twenties or very early thirties.
Gender: Female
Race: Ancient - A race of humanoids that went extinct hundreds of millennia ago, but once occupied nearly the entirety of the Shirkon Nebula, the expanse of space claimed in modern times by the Republic Collective, populated primarily by Orotians. Though both are humanoids with extensive qualities in common, Orotians are not considered descendants of the Ancients, as certain traits of the newer race - double eyelids, hair ridges and chitin scales - indicate they evolved from a different race, while Ancients seem physically identical to Humans, though they tend to stand a little taller and are built a little sleeker.
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Power Level: High-tier Medium (6)
Timeline: Modern/Futuristic
Appearance: Standing in at 6'5" in her stiletto boots, her slender build actually has her weighing in at only about 140 pounds. Her lithe, pale cream body, with its long legs, graceful arms, delicate piano fingers and swan neck, are wrapped in layers of black lace and satin with a black corset trimmed in silver. She has an incredibly long mane of hair that spills forth like white gold, frequently kept up in a go-go ponytail, but even so, it still goes down to her calves.
Personality: Ruina considers Orotians and similar "young" races that have come about since the fall of her own to be unevolved barbarians, little better than animals. Though a few individuals impress her, she generally holds this view throughout her revival. As such, they are unfit to inherit and properly care for the lands of the Empire. They are little more than pests to drive out.
She is fond of art and music and considers herself to have high-class tastes.
History: (See Nova Ranger for details)
Powers: Though she has no power suit, she doesn't need one, and possesses cybernetic and nanite enhancements that serve as superior equivalents. This lets her use any piece of Ancient technology, which she understands much better than the Republic Collective. Her enhancements, though not visible, are combat-grade, allowing her to discharge high-density energy bursts, erect barriers and move with superhuman force and agility.
Equipment: Though she's proficient with Ancient technology, she rarely carries any with her unless she has a specific need for it, trusting the hauling of gear to the lesser members of her Court. She does have access to an entire cache, however, as well as a bio-resequencer that she can use to transform creatures and even people into her loyal, monstrous servants.
Weakness: Truth be told, she is not the best fighter and performs better as a sorceress, using her blasts to keep her opponents at a distance. While highly proficient at Waif-fu, she's just not generally as good as a true martial artist when backed into a corner with nowhere to add distance.
