This is a good, couple years old Turn Based Strategy and RPG. I recently re-installed it over last night and almost till 1:00 AM.
The only problems I have so far with the game (can't remember the first time I played it) are the installations. Turns out, the original game and the expansion packs are on 6 different CDs. 2 for the original game, 2 for the Elves, and two for Guardians of the Light/Servants of the Dark expansion packs. Each group is installed on its own.
Guess what the best part of that is? The idiots that made the game (Strategy First, don't bother Googling them as their websites are gone) set the default file names for BOTH groups of expansion packs as the same name! This caused about an hour of "Corrupt Files" errors before I switched CD-ROMs and it told me about it.
Safe to say, I gave several empty boxes the "Bruce Lee Death Stomp" during the installation sequences. I'll actually be able to play ittomorrow later today, but I plan on finding patches on fan sites before that. Wish me luck. Now I'll play "Find the Individual Play Disks". They (S.F.) seriously needed to include something to switch between expansion packs and same-race campaigns in game.
*Update*
I played it for awhile, and its fun. The only bad parts are when I can't get the patches downloaded and when my bro kicked me off. If you like LONG games, this is for you! The RPG elements come in with accumulating experience levels and deciding which upgrades to get at different levels.
I've been playing the Empire's Campaign, and I'm still on the second mission. #1: kill evil goth chick and save Emperor. #2: Find and save Dwarven Diplomat. I'll post more mission objectives as I get to them.
The funny thing about missions and alliances is that you could be tasked with saving Bob, yet be at war with Bob's race. BTW, the playable races/factions/whatever are the Empire, Legions of the Damned, Mountain Clans, Undead Hordes, and Elves (via Expansion packs). My dad's IMing me from outta state. Gotta go. More later.
*UPDATE*
Sorry I haven't posted about stuff for this game, but I've got good news. My dad saw it at a Target for about $10, but I don't know if it includes the original. Still, that would probably be about $20 all together. Its a good ol' Turn-Based Strategy and I recommend getting it.
