Ninmast, it wasn't just one scene... Also, *I didn't want to say this unless it came down to it because it is a major spoiler so if you do not want this grate serise spoiled for ya then don't read!* There is a male persacom that becomes the main enemy in Chobits. He, and this girl, whom I believe are lovers, are from the federal data bank or something like that... Anyway, They know that Chii is a Chobit and thus has control over all persacoms, as her father made Chii(Elda) and Freya to do.... So, the government feels threatend by this last Chobit and thus wants her put out of the picture... So, they send the two persoms to enilate her, one being a male... ~nods~

I already said that, and they completely ignored me. Watch, this time they'll listen to you just to spite me! Just so I'm on topic: Oh, yeah, Chobits. I saw that show... once... Actually, I was looking up songs on YouTube and I saw some clips in an AMV. I guess I'm just really persnickety when it comes to anime, 'cause I thought Pokemon art was better than that. ^_^;

~nods~ Okay, that makes ... zero difference ... So they have one male persocom character and a few passing shots of a couple others, and that somehow neutralizes the debasing they do of the female image throughout the other 90% of the content? To be frank, it wouldn't matter if they had fifty million male persocoms with half of them being primary characters. The issue is the undermining of the female image by female-type persocoms being treated as lesser beings along the lines of love slaves. The degradation of society is so prevalient that when the persocom belonging to the kid genius the main character takes Chii to is mistaken for the genius' sister, nobody finds it remotely odd she's dressed like a two-bit whore, only scantly more covered than the two lingerie-toting persocoms that overloaded when they tried to interface with Chii. This suggests a social state in which females as individuals are so devalued that it's acceptable and expected for them to go around in their underwear, or less. Now, you seem to think that because I am citing this as an issue, I must dislike the series. I do not. I find it quite enjoyable. I bring up these issues because from a sociological perspective, I find them to be remarkable signs of the possible effects household androids could have on our cultures. It's a psychological interest, Karli, not a critical flaming.

OK take this into account, CLAMP the people who made Chobits and several other cool manga/anime, is an all girl team, also some consideration could be taken into account that it was common for persocoms to be dressed however the owners felt like, plus none of those certain costumes are seen out of peoples house holds, showing that possible its more of a personal preference than a social state

(Aha! Hah! Moved! What did I tell you, Lotus? You see?! It's a conspiracy!)
Now, now. No one accused CLAMP of being a bunch of dirty old men. Many girls have "trash-hoe" characters, so gender is a bit irrelevant.
I don't know anything about sociology, but when just about everyone has the same personal preference, doesn't that make it a social state?

It does, True. It certainly does. And I did not mean anything against the makers, either. I have nothing but the utmost respect for CLAMP, and I was well aware that they were all-female. Again, this was not an attack against Chobits or its makers. It was simply a sociological observation.
To Lotus, if persocoms are dressed to their owners' tastes, and the majority of owners seem to prefer the extremely suggestive outfits, that personal preference is very much a social state, as True said. A social state is determined by it being a prime concept held by the majority or most widely voiced group in a society.
