Well, I need an anime series to download (while I finish the ones I have right now), but I don't know what to get.
Here's a profile of my anime... career.
I liked: Death Note Speed Grapher Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Trigun Naruto
I semi-liked: Onegai Teacher Onegai Twins Saber Marionette J (as well as SMJ Again) DearS I, My, Me Strawberry Eggs Girls Bravo (second season gave me a heavy dose of WTF when I first put it on) DBZ
I'm currently finishing/still airing: Girls Bravo Naruto
Downloaded but haven't started (due to lack of interest or time): Love Hina RahXephon Neon Genesis Evangelion
Incomplete (either due to lack of interest or time): Chobits Sailor Moon Azumanga Daioh Hellsing Card Captor Sakura Gankutsuou

Watch Rave Master and Bottle Fairy. Those are the only animes I ever really liked as opposed to passively tolerated. ^_*))

Try Sergeant Frog (Keroro Gunsou--sp?). It's very funny...if you like that sort of humor. Another awesome humor series is Guren Laggan (Again, sp?).
Or , if you're not looking for humor, I'd recommend Code Geass or Darker Than Black. Both are action. I personally love, LOVE Darker Than Black, even though I've only seen about 8 or 9 episodes...It's new, but it's great, and it has music by Yoko Kanno, my favorite anime composer.
Hmm...Any specific genre you're looking for? Maybe if you tell me I can specify something.

More like serious, thought-provoking animes. The ones that make you go "WTF?!" in terms of "Damn that was good" rather than "... what the f*ck is that? Is that randomness?"
In other words, I want it more like the Death Note "WTF?!" rather than the FLCL "WTF?!"
The thriller, mindf*ck... maybe a bit of a darker, more adultish theme (I don't mean porn... I mean, something dark, sinister, evil, and scary as hell).

Bleah... eh... I may do that later. I preferably want an anime that's completed already.
... preferably 26 episodes and below (otherwise I may have checked out Eureka 7).

Maihime is exactly 26 episodes... it goes from a mildly generic magical girl with giant monsters anime to the most morbid, depressing thing ever.
Its brilliant.

Paranoia Agent wasn't very long, as best I can remember. I think it was around 15 episodes or less. It was mainly about a serial killer and the people affected by him.

You want sinister? Scary as hell? Something that makes no sense unless you watch it all?
Watch an anime called Higurashi. The full name is Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni...or something like that. But please, please, PLEASE be warned, this anime is scary as all hell, and has scenes that would probably give squeamish people nightmares. I know it made me flinch.
It's about this village, and centers on a group of kids...4 girls, 1 guy. The guy just moved to the village. While the art style is very, very cutesy, it's really...horrible. @_@ The plot is basically about a murder/other unpleasant things that have happened in the village, and who exactly committed the murder...There are things called question arcs and things called answer arcs. You will be very confused until the end, since each arc seems to implicate a different person as the villain.
An example of the sinister-ness of the anime? The little girls are all psychotic, except for maybe the blue-haired one. There are very graphic scenes of torture and murder and suicide in it, including an illusion of maggots coming out of wrist wounds, a crucifix type torture device, another torture device which pulls out nails, riceballs filled with needles...Do you need more?
Honestly, I'm not sure whether you'll want to watch it... @.@

Mmm, so it's all sorta like one big puzzle that leaves you going, "wtf?" while putting together the pieces... until the end?
Hm... I may check it out. If it does creep me out and give me nightmares, that's extra bonus points! I haven't had a good nightmare to be scared from for a while. Mmmm, nightmares... hehe.
I'll have to delete Gankutsuou to make room for my new stuff. It seemed a bit interesting, but I just cannot get over the weird art style...

Yes indeed, it leaves you going WTF until the end. It's cyclic--I've been told it ends how it begins.
Gankutsuou...I need to see that. I've wanted to for a couple years now.

*pops head through door* Yo. I recommend Arc the Lad, if you can find it. It's 27 (I think) episodes, and not the best anime in the world, but it is by far my favorite. Should warn you, it's very serious business; not at all cute, and not for children. It's a videogame anime, and (loosely) follows the plot of the second game, with flashbacks to the first; basically means it follows the actions of a guy named Elk more than the actual title character. I can't really tell you what it's about, because it's not especially deep as far as the actual actions that take place, but you are left questioning the motives and histories behind them. It's more of a "let's find out who's really pulling the strings" anime; a fair amount of action, heavy on dialogue that doesn't exactly make 100% sense until you learn the history of the characters. (or play the games...that works too...) If you don't mind an anime that has a color palette chosen from the three bleakest colors the animator could find, graphic scenes of gore, and brief nudity, then I think you'll like it. That is all.

Call me crazy, but I liked Mobile Suit Gundam: 08th MS. It was like Romeo and Juliet in the Gundam universe. Very, very awesome, with the wonderfully rich art, musical score and giant robots the Gundam series is known for, and one of the best Gundam storylines in the entire metaseries, in my personal opinion.
