Vista won't cause any overt problems. It will simply make your computer run less than optimum.

Vista is to memory as Gordo the Round is to food. They both consume more than their practical use needs.
But, either way, I assume you can still run it. With that 1 GB of memory, it should be able to handle Vista pretty well.
I don't know of any anti-virus programs for Vista. I use "AntiVir XP" from majorgeeks.com, but that's for Windows XP. I don't think there's a Vista version out there.

Yes, I was going to recommend AVG 7.5. Vista won't cause any overt problems. It will simply make your computer run less than optimum. Yeah, provided you don't try to plug anything in, download anything, or try to hook the computer up to anything else ...

Their is almoest nothing compatible with vista, I actually over-rode it with windows XP as my operating system!
