Hello? is this thing on? I'm talking about your computer. If you haven't heard of Cloverfield, well I could start saying mean things, but I won't.
Anyways, I've been waiting half a year for this movie to come out. I waited patiently. So, the movie comes out, and what do I get? no visuals of the monster. *sigh* Well, it is told in the perspective of people trying to RUN from the monster, so visuals would be questionable.
Then again, I haven't seen the movie yet, but I expected to see some low res attempt at showing the world what the monster looked like on the big screen when I typed in "Cloverfield Monster" into Google image search. All I got was speculation. Apparently the Final Fantasy X's Sin look-alike is more popular with the obsessed. Well, I guess JJ. Abrams went Spielburg/ M. Night Shamalan on us: The less you see of the scary thing, the more scared you will be. I'm more into the science part of Sci-Fi. And if you want to make an American Godzilla monster movie, show the monster.
For me, the Cloverfield movie is a Horror film, not a Sci-Fi Monster Movie. I hope "Cloverfield" 2 will show the incident in the military's perspective.
Abrams Tank Gunner: "The Freakin Discarding Sabot Rounds will not Freaking penetrate it's skin!"
CO: "We're screwed."
President: "Son of a *****!"

Yeah I saw it. I liked it actaully. Just... both my dad and I don't agree on how strong that damn monster's skin was. I counted 4 500lb bombs strikes from the B2 on its back and those things will level anything. The only thing I can think of as to why it's skin was so strong would be if it was living in a volcano, and thats a bit difficult to do. Also the little monsters that fell off the big one, thats been done many times before. Just..... those little ones were scaryer than the big one. Also a reason for WHY to own a gun. You never now when you'll need it.
When it ended alot of people in the threater were pissed and complain while walking out. I guess they didn't like the ending.
By the way, did anyone catch what was said at the end of the credits? I heard something, but I couldn't understand it.

Spoiler Alert: No, the monster doesn't look anything like that GM. They do show the full monster in the movie and even one close up of its head. The thing looks like a combination of a frog and a wingless bat in my opinion.
GO SEE THE MOVIE, if you want to know what it looks like.

I've been around the net reading the descriptions. Well, I don't really know when I'll be able to go see it. This week is school, and this weekend, I might be going in to have surgery. Not sure just yet though. My consultation is this Thursday.
So, has anyone else seen it?

I saw it. I thought the monster, which to me looks like a crab, was lame. The previews were better than the movie.

I want to see it just to see if the rumor that it causes people to have motion sickness is true.

I want to see it just to see if the rumor that it causes people to have motion sickness is true. I believe it since the camera moves alot. They said the same thing when the Blair Witch project came out. But, I didn't get sick just to let you know.

I didn't enjoy it...
I agree with EJP's descrption of it and the fact that it was too invincible, for it's skin to be that tough could it have even been so mobile?

That's what I'm thinking. If a tungsten round coming out of the German made gun in an abrhams can't penatrate the skin, that skin has to be made out of some really good material, like some kind of super duper carbon fiber or something.

As for the bombs, the skin's strength isn't really the biggest matter. The skeleton would've taken massive damage from that bombing.
if you haven't seen the moster clearly yet, get the dvd. The special features include the making of the moster.
