"I'll not warn you again, stranger. Leave or it'll cost you your life." He clincked his claws together and hunched over ready to launch at him. "Get out of my sight before I remove you from this plane of existance."

Selasther gave a dry frown. "The world has gone to the dogs, with a majority of its population wiped out. Yet you insist on shoving people away?" He asked. His host gave a shrug. "Whatever. That's your perogative, not mine." He turned his back to the undead, waving a hand as he walked away. "Toodles."

Havvok grunted and stuck up his nose. "Good, I wish there were more good listeners like you in the world." He turned to the girl. "I'm sorry, but I must leave you. I have a little vengance to take on some of these wretched beings on this world, they aren't fit to be called people."

Abby nodded hesitantly. "Just be careful. And don't let that anger eat you up." She held the coat out again. "Sure you don't want it?"

"Not at all," He shook his head ana turned. He began to walk away, slinking though the snow like a hungry snake when he turned back around. "Would you care to come along? Just south of here is where the United States used to stand."

Shifting her weight, the snow crunching softly under her boot, she turned to her companion, and elderly lady.
“That was rather mean, don’t ya think?” The girl asked.
The elderly lady did not look to the young one but spoke to her, her eyes staring forward, seeing what cannot be seen.
“The one they made such a fuss over, Selasther, gave them a strange feeling but they couldn’t pinpoint it. Feeling that and trusting it since it has steered them correctly so far, they made him leave. I sense a willing to obtain something from them within him.”
“What did they want?”
“I cannot search his past but only his current being.” She said dryly, the cold wind stinging her back. Pain was but little inconvenience to her though.
“Ah, so if we were to follow him, then maybe-“
“That wouldn’t be smart, but I do think we should follow the others, might prove entertaining. They seem to be headed to the United States, or where it formally stood, the zombie wanting revenge on the living I think, while the girl is just wandering from what I can tell.”
The younger laughed at this, knowing that some survived the apocalypse, or so they said it was, she had yet to believe so seeing as life was still existent. She defined an apocalypse as the destruction of all life. ‘Either way,’ she thought, ‘he’ll be disappointed.’
“Well let’s follow then.” Ain said nudging the elderly woman who she had met only a few days ago. She had introduced herself as Ol’Mana, and Ain figured she had a super ability, just didn’t care much to decide what it was. She figured that if she had to guess though, it was the ability to see into people’s minds.
Mana had seen Havvok when he had entered the village, had seen Abbie walking, had felt had felt Selasther’s presence, and had listened to their conversation.
They kept near the two, waiting on Abbie’s reply, Ain playing with her cell phone (sound muted) and Mana looking forward into the bleak surrounding.

"Sure," the catgirl agreed as she slung the coat back on over her. "Not from there myself, though. Japan's where I was born and raised. Half of it's probably underwater, though, and the other half in ash-caked ruins. I wonder if those tainted sakura trees outside the academy survived ..."

He walked on "C'mon then, I'll tell you what happened since I was here to witness it first hand." He waited to hear her footsteps follow his own. "In the late 21st century, a computer glitch launched all nuclear missles on Earth at their pre-determined target. A tragedy, but one anyone with a brainstem could've seen comig. But the fact is, that the missles only fell on direct threats to the particular nations, and Japan wasn't hit as hard as other countries, good for you, yes?"
" There were three major nuclear shelters built by then, in case such a thing happened, but they weren't enough. Many people died from the blasts and even more died from the fallout, unable to fit in the large shelters. In about fifty years, the humans exited after the fallout had settled, shocked to find what they had done to their planet. They tried to plant seeds from the fruits and vegetables they had survived on. For the most art, it didn't work, but there are thin forrest surrounding the shelters now.
" Finally, they began to develop their old governmets again." He scoffed. "History just repeating itself. They soon made laws, just as they had before. Essentially, they went back through previous ages at an accelerated rate. They began building the neccesities again. Hospitals, schools, jails, and housing districts. They did well starting over, though it was only in isolated pockets of population.
"That's when they stumbled upon me, I was merely trying to stay in existance." He turned his head ver his shoulder. "I still have to eat, but all but human flesh turns to ash in my mouth. They found me feeding and stuck me in that infernal prison that withstood the nuclear holocaust. I had been in there for nearly a century, rotting even faster than normal. That is, until just recently, and here we are."

The idea that Japan might have been largely spared gave her some hope, but as his story continued, she nodded. "Just in case you get hungry," she informed him, "I'm not human, so I'm afraid I can't help you." The way she said it wasn't like she was afraid he'd attack her, more like she would offer if she could. "In their defense, though, can you really blame them for locking up a flesh-eating zombie? I know it wasn't fair because you were only doing what you had to do, but they were only trying to protect themselves."
She picked up the pace to catch up beside him. "You know, there is a fruit in Otherworld that, if eaten, could ... well, not make you human again, but at least make you living again so human flesh isn't your only source of food. After you've gotten what you want from the people that locked you away, perhaps you could come back with me and try."

"Actually, mine is a different affliction. I only have one third of a soul." He shrugged his shoulders. "I've gotten used to it, but it's the fact that they tortured me in that prison. They are just affraid of me so they tried to kill me. After they failed, they left me to rot in that place." He shook his head. "That's why I'm so pissed at them. I can understand if you don't want to follow anymore for hearing that. Feel free to leave if you wish. I'll point you in the right direction."

She just chuckled, shaking her head. "A third of a soul is more than enough for the fruit. Though I am curious. If I may ask, where is the other two-thirds?"

"Actuall, I'm not sure. Lost for certain, or nearly certain at least. I can't expect you to know who took it from me, but the demon's name was Toriji." He shuddered at te sound of Toriji's name. "He was just starting as a reaper in his younger years, and didn't completely take my soul from its cage. He was shocked and retreated backto his realm, leaving me as you now see."

"Hymph, demons." Mana sneered.
" Pitiful things of your gods." she remarked to Ain, who was walking beside her, head tilted to the barren sky.
"EH! Not my god. Talk to those Christans, their god was the one who made them. My god only allowed them to live here." She corrected Mana, who only stared ahead.
" Either way, I don't feel as if your could compare to ours. Look just were they has brought you."
"Wait," She said stopping, " Didn't the second gen or your kind fall? How can you talk-"
"They are not us. They were imperfect, aspiring to become greater than the gods, and so they fell. Do not compare us to them."
Ain continued to walk. " Well, whatever. Just as long as they do something interesting sooner or later. If all they do is walk and talk, imma just go attack them for fun."
Mana only sighed at this, knowing the outcome.

Speaking of "gods", a cold voice spoke up from behind Ain and Mana.
"Isn't such unnecessary violence the epitome of human shortcomings?" Selasther was standing behind the two, his host giving both of them a blank stare. "And, by the way, gods had nothing to do with demons, thank you. You really should research what you're blaming before you blame it."

"Huh, never heard of him," Abby concluded. "But if the rest of your soul was reaped, maybe it'll come back to you if you go to the otherworld with me? Sort of like a rubber band. And if not, there's certainly people there that can help find a way to do it."
