"We were unsure of the velocities safe for your spawn." Gexor said. "Ours are very weak, very fragile, so we did not want to take chances."
"Oh..." Glenn said. "I appreciate that, but... Seth can take faster than this."
"We can't change the speed now." Gexor said. He looked up. "Besides, we're almost there."
*Elsewhere*
Cassandra Frois was running through a park. She had heard about the invasion much later than Glenn, and while she was sure her husband probably scooped up their son as soon as he left the TV studio, she was still worried. So, she was now wandering under the shade of the trees, looking for her family. Fortunately, finding anyone wouldn't be hard, most of the population had cleared out of the park as soon as they caught wind of the "attack".

Nina was walking through the park. she had heard sounds of panic, and the plants around her were giving signs that something was amiss. so, she had picked up her pot of dirt that held a single flower in it, and she began running, holding the pot to her body like it was her only hope for life. she soon ran into Cassandra, and her pot fell and it hit Cassandra in the head and broke. Nina looked and said, "i'm so sorry!" and she got up quickly and looked worried

Terry looked up to follow the alien's gaze. "Finally, about time!"

"Ow..." Cassandra moaned. She slowly ran a hand over where she was hit by the pot. As her hand passed by, all signs of injury faded away from existance. She looked at the girl that ran into her. "Are you alright?" She asked, sounding more concerned than angry.

As the group closed in on the ship, a small opening fromed in the ship. The four were gently eased inside by the gravity, greeted by a spacious room only light by the light from the outside. However, when the seal closed again, they were plunged into total darkness.
This was only for a short moment, however. Soon, floodlights on the floor came on. They were a bright neon green in colour, and a ring of shallow water could be seen around the black metal platform the group was on.
"Welcome aboard." Gexor said.

Terry looked around, taking it in. "Not bad, but a little redecoration wouldn't hurt."

Nina said, "i am alright ma'am. I'm sorry about hitting you with the pot." and she bowed to her and then began picking up the pot pieces. "are you sure your not hurt though? that was a bad hit." and she looked up at her

"And it wouldn't help, either." Gexor said. He walked to an edge of the chamber, the light tinkling of his feet hitting the shallow water echoed in the room. "Or species is quite... as your people would say... Spartan, when it comes to millitary design."
*Park*
"I've went through much, much worse, kid." Cassandra said, smiling. "Don't worry yourself over it, it's not like you meant to, that's obvious. Now, if it was a delibrate attack, I'd definitely be less than impressed about it."

Terry shrugged at that and moved to follow the alien on out of the room.

Nina nodded. "i would not harm you unless i was being attacked first." and she picked up the last piece and sighed. "now i won't be able to catch up to those ships i heard about." she said, and hung her head.

There was a hiss and a low buzz as the wall shifted. Due to the dim lighting by Terry's standards, this most likely was only noted by the sudden appearance of light on the other end of the wall and the ruching of air. In reality, the wall had split into multiple triangular sections that slid away. The hallway beyond, like the chamber, was basic in design. The glossy black metal, shallow water and green glow continued. There were several tanks of bubbling water on each wall, seperated by short metal rails. These were lit on the inside by the green lights, so they came across more like some sort of noxious, radiant liquid than water.
"This way, humans." Gexor said, waving for Terry and Glenn to follow.
*Park*
"From what my husband has said, they're not something you'd want to track down." Cassandra said. "Appearantly one of them attacked Cairo, in Egypt."

"So what's with all the water on the floor?" Terry asked as they walked. "I don't know about you, but for Humans, it's a recipe for foot fungus."

"Our race is, by your standard, a mixture of insectoid, humanoid and cephlapod." Gexor said. He held up his left hand, and the tentacles wrapped around it writhed and twitched for emphasis. "Not all of us are as insectoid as I. The water is for our cephlapod brethren, though it is still pleasent to the rest of us."

"Oh, I see," Terry nodded in understanding. "That makes more sense." In a lower voice, he reached over and elbowed Glenn. "What's a cephlapod?"

Glenn frowned. "Um... squid, octopi, mollusks and those other tentacled stuff. They're the most intelligent of all invertibrae. I guess that makes sense... They're like the primates of the invertibrae, if you look at it that way."

"Oh," the teenager answered, turning back to follow the alien.
