Old Mr. Johnson has had an old yellow cat named Jack for as long as anyone can remember, and as equally long, his hatred for the animal has been well-known. Ever since the cat came to him as a stray, ill fortune has fallen upon everything he attempted, so much so that he has become certain the animal bears a virulent curse. Try as he might to make the cat leave, however, Jack never does.
He has become so desperate that he has examined what finances he has and come to the conclusion that if he sold every last thing he owned, he could offer a $500,000 reward to anyone who could get rid of the animal by any means necessary.
Your character is one of many who has come at the scent of easy money, and yet, when it comes to your turn, the cat is, strangely, not yet dead. But who are you to complain? All you have to do is off one cat, and half a million smackaroos are all yours for the taking.
On a separate note, you heard a rumor that the local mortuary home was experiencing quite a boom in business recently ...
----------------------------------------------------
You can enter any character you like of any power level, so long as they are a modern character. Their objective will be to get rid of Jack in any way they can. Be warned, simply taking him away may not be enough, as he has already travelled long distances to return to Mr. Johnson's doorstep seemingly overnight.
This probably won't be a long RP, but it will go so long as people still have characters. If your character is no longer in the running, whether it be due to giving up or medical reasons like death or dismemberment, you may enter another character at that time. When no one has any more characters they wish to enter, the RP will end and you will get to see the special ending scene.
Feel free to enter upon arriving at Mr. Johnson's house.

Yesterday, he'd been torn away from mid battle. The bechainsawed arm was swinging down-... and then, he was gone. Just gone in the violet-blue flame that was becoming awfully familiar.
Yesterday, he saw the flier, but whatever. The witch was exhausted.
Lucubro Epsilon was not one to forget a cursed animal when he heard about one. The flier stayed in his head. He would go, take the animal, and... Well, what god would be particularly fond of that kind of sacrifice?
He could think of that later. Today, he was strolling up to the house, smelling the air, climbing the steps. He hadn't bothered with a host. Just one 'demon' taking out another, and if this guy had a problem with it, then he could keep his dumb sacrifice. Cat. He could keep his dumb cat.

A short girl, with long silver hair, light blue skin, and webbed fingers ( both skin and webbing unnoticeable to most humans.) comes around the corner with the flier in hand and a big smile on her face. As she walks up to the door, she waves at the other person at the door and says, "Hello, my name is Suki. Are you here to adopt the cat also?" Clearly missing the fact the what the flier said could mean anything else but adoption.

At the verbal mention of the word cat, as if summoned by utterance, an old yellow tomcat came out around the corner, strolling slowly, taking his time as cats do, in their general direction. Like most cats, he gave the two humanoids a passing glance, then promptly ignored their very existance as he continued on along on whatever errand he might have.

The other person at the door was about as human as the shapeshifter, with blotched navy and onyx skin, wholly ebon-eyed and clad in a grey uniform, vaguely military. If she looked, Suki could probably see vaguely arcane scarring coating his hands. Lucubro eyed the furry soon-to-be token of his gratitude as it passed, not seeming to notice her until he spoke and started walking after it.
"Yes. Adopt. Do you have other pets?"

Suki watched the cat passed excitedly, and then she says, "No, i've never had a pet a pet before. I'm so exited." As she follows the man after the cat.

"Do you know how to take care of one?" The witch mumbled. He could cut along the spine and pull out the creature's still-beating heart through its back. Maybe. He'd have to check a book at the apartment. "They can be a handful." Handful of still-beating heart.

The cat sauntered on around the other corner of the old, brown house, taking his sweet time, but an old man opened the door before the two could get very far. "You don't want to adopt that cat," he stated bluntly. "That old yellow cat would be the death of ya. Only reason I've lasted as long is because he likes to keep me around to torment."

Suki replies, "Nope not a clue." Then after the old man steps out and speaks she says, "Yes I do, it's really cute and we can stay together forever and ever." Apparently ignoring the old mans comments about torment and death.

Lucubro looked from Suki to Old Mr. Johnson, then back to the cat strolling away, the Earth beast clearly ignorant of its fate.
He went around the mutant's back while she was distracted, stalking after the would be burnt offering and mumbling something unintelligible.
Where the house met the earth, the shadow widened and darkened, and suddenly thrust out as an onyx spear as the cat passed.

(Auto here, get used to it. You'll find this happening a lot in this RP. ^_^)
But SOMETHING went wrong, and the old man and Suki would hear a cry from the alien as the spear went up through his own foot.
Mr. Johnson just sighed and shook his head. "I warned him ..."

(...*guffaw*)
It was a little more than a cry, actually. His pained exclamation rang out like a banshee's howl, about as bone-chilling, until he stopped to take a breath, and screamed again. Then it was just girly. And then it was just a loud string of alien obscenities once he got the presence of mind to dissipate the spear, which wasn't particularly frightening, either.
Lucubro didn't stop to examine the injury, though. On releasing the spear from this realm, he did notice navy blood pumping out of the neat hole in what had been a whole boot, and that set him off. He suddenly had a stone dagger in hand, had it come from his jacket?
The witch half-bolted, half-limped after the feline. Baal-Marduk was so getting this monster.

But the overshadowed portion of the yard between the house and the fence that he attempted to chase the cat down hid its own secrets, and his feet found an old can before his eyes did, sending him face-first toward the ground. Well, almost face-first. The dagger would be landing first. And its blade would be jutting up toward his free-falling chest.

Suki, noticing the scream, runs over to help him out as he starts to the cat with the dagger. As he falls, she attempts to grab his arm and keep him from hitting the ground. The whole way she franticly asks questions like, "Are you ok?", and "Where are you hurt?".

(You couldn't have gotten there in time to try to grab him, Suki, sorry.)
