*Tsunade was going though paper work when a messenger arrived in her office with a mission scroll. She opened the scroll and read it carefully. After some thinking she ordered that Ryu Kaize, Nasu Senshi, and Shuiro Souran be called to her office. One by one each of the Ninja gathered in Tsunade’s office. Each of the ninja would notice that a Ninja from the Star Village was there. Shizune was also in the office with a nervous look on her face. Before anyone could say anything Tsunade spoke.*
Tsunade: “The four of you have been assigned to a mission. You are to go the Village of Hao Lo located on the North Eastern boarder of Bird Country. Your mission is to protect the temporary feudal lord Huang Pu from being assassinated. He must be kept alive for 7 days after you arrive at the village. Who, what, or how he is going to be assassinated is unknown. All we know is that the Huang Pu was the son of the last feudal lord Huang Pie, who has mysteriously died, and that 10 different house holds could take over the village for their own gain if Huang Pu was to die. Now then, I know by now you must have notice Mei Sakurazuka, the star ninja over there. She will be assisting you on this mission as a part of deal we worked out with the Star village. Are there any question pertaining to the mission?”
*Tsunade seemed to be angered by something and not in a mood to be pissed off.*

At the introduction, the Star ninja bowed politely, but remained silent to avoid interrupting the Hokage.

Nasu and Shuiro were not teammates, yet they had both been summoned to the Hokage's office. They arrived in good time, noticing their Star ally, and listened to Tsunade's orders.
When the time for questions came, Shuiro asked, "Is that really all the information we have, Lady Tsunade? There aren't any clues as to who might want to assassinate this man? Or why they want to do it?"

Tsunade: "Why is simple. If Huang Pu is killed there will be no true secssor and someone will try to replace him. 10 different house holds will try to take over the village, some who don't even live in the village. Although the village isn't all that well known, it has become a large trading village because the village holds a vast amount of natural resources. Who is the biggest problem, any of the 10 house holds could be planning the assassination. They could be doing the assassination themselves or, and this is what I believe, they've hired ninja from another village to do the job. If I had to guess, I'd say they've hired Rock Village ninja. However this is just a guess, but if I'm right, chances are the rock ninja are already on their way to the village, if not already there. However, we were not told about any of the evidence to comfirm that another ninja village could be involed with this one. "

Ryu, after shaking of the daze he was always shouded in while around Tsunade, scratched his chin. "Hrm... I don't like it. There are too many variables. What's to keep the ten families from attacking each other while we protect Huang Pu? We could very well be caught in the middle of a war while trying to curve the violence. Unless you've got info you haven't given..."

*Tsunade gave Ryu a glance that said "I going to hit you".*
Tsunade: "The 10 families can kill each other for all I care. Your mission is to protect Huang Pu and only Huang Pu. The village has guards to keep order but keeping order in the village is the only thing you can trust them for. If Huany Pu is kill, the village could break out in total war. That is why you have to keep him alive. However... there is some infomation that could prove useful or explode in your face. Huang Pu has 2 body doubles. I don't know how good of doubles they are but they are not professionals. If someone in the village was to see one of these doubles killed, they could think its the real Huang Pu and then all hell could break loose."

"So in reality," Mia concluded, "we really have three people to protect, Huang Po and his two doubles. Or at least get him to give them a vacation until this all blows over."

"Why don't we send them to a different village. It would make it a hell of a lot easier on us if we only have one person to defend. Actually, the most competent instruction follower would be best to stay. We'd more than likely have to get him out of hairy situations in ways on a ninja could think of. If he doesn't follow our directions, he could get himself killed... But I suppose we should be accustomed to things like that by now."

Tsunade: "Once again, keeping the REAL Huang Pu alive is your mission. How you will or will not use the doubles is up to you. Ryu, since you rank the highest, your team leader. Now then, unless you have any more question I suggest you get moving."

"No questions here, ma'am," Nasu said.
Shuiro nodded, also responding, "I don't have any questions, either."

Ryu held his arms crossed across his chest, chin in hand. He had a million questions but decided they would only dig the hole deeper for him. "No Lady Tsunade... I have no more questions."

(I hope you don't mind but I'm going to time skip ahead to get things moving.)
Tsunade: "Good. It should take you about two days to get to the village of Hao Lo. I wish you good luck, now move out!"
*With Tsunade's last word, the 4 Shinobi moved out. About 2 days of travel later, the 4 Shinobi entered the territory of the village of Hao Lo. Right outside the boarder of the village of Hao Lo was a vast forrest surrounding it, followed by a large ammount of farm land. However, once you made it onto the farm land, you still couldn't see the village of Hao Lo. Hao Lo was hidden by a small forrest and large hills that were more like the walls. To get into the village of Hao Lo, you had only 3 roads that entered the village. Each road that entered the village came from a different direction of travel, North, East, and South west. The 4 Shinobi were on the road that entered from the East and the farms around there were growing mostly rice and wheat. Right away the 4 shinobi could tell that this village wasn't in any sort of food crisis and that they could expect to be eatting well. However there was a strange feeling each of the Shinobi could have been feeling. With it being high noon, not a single villager was in sight or even tending to the farm land. Only as the got closer to the road that forrest around the village would they start to notice a foul smell that only a dead body could make.*

Mei wrinkled her nose as the smell first became clear. "Oh great," she complained. "I already don't like this trip. And I was so enjoying the countryside, too. We should hurry up and get there as quickly as possible to see if it's too late for us to do anything."

"This place is deserted," Nasu commented, looking at the unattended farms.
"Do you think," Shuiro began, pausing to contemplate whether or not she should suggest her morbid idea. "Do you think that all the villagers are...y'know...dead? I mean, they weren't the target, right?"

"Straighten up!" He halted immediately when the smell hit him. The command was an odd one, he meant to stop and pay attention. "This could be a trap. Proceed slowly and with caution." He crept forward, tying his chakra strings around the small shuriken we wore as rings.
