Noooooooooooooo.... Alright... I'll deal with that.... do you wanna have us put our sheets up here or in the Character Thread with, like, markings saying what they're for?

Sorry, but that's the rule. x3
And another good question from VP. The characters for this RP aren't really that likely to see use outside of their own story... Or they might? Well you know, the background of just about any character can be shaped to fit other settings. But for now I'd say post your CS here.

I'll do a Tide Water maiden who had a human father, and she's got a couple sisters as a result.
Will Flower be accompanying Ivan on his diplomatic mission? If so, what clan is she from?

I don't mean to be bossy, but I think it'd be best to post characters in separate topics like usual, just because, and because of the Character Registry. NOT THAT ANYBODY EVER UPDATES IT. And just link the profiles back here. In a post. You know, I think I actually found this RP a while ago when I was Googling "mermaid"... It was on a black page, as well. I have a mermaid named Ambellina! But she flies, and blows bubbles. And she can walk/shuffle on her flippers. I don't think she'd be appropriate for this RP.

Well I've read everything, its iteresting and creative, but I'm more of an action man. So I'm going to pass on this one.

No worries, Blue. You're the Mod, so you're in charge. Now that you mention the character registry, I agree that our character sheets ought to be posted elsewhere. And Ambellina is a good name for a mermaid, but you're right to want to exclude the flying and the bubbles. And she wouldn't be doing too much walking either. Mermaids are living torpedoes when they're in the water, but on land I always imagined them scooting and flopping around like seals do.
And good thinking, Nin! I like your creativity and once again you've asked a very good question. Whatever happened to Flower? Honestly, I hadn't thought much about it until now and I'm a little unsure of what to say. I hadn't planned on having her tag along, or really have any major role in the present story, but that could change...
Having his mermaid mentor as a partner in diplomacy couldn't hurt Ian's chances, could it? And given the bond they must have developed, he may have insisted that Flower be brought along. Not only to be a friendly face to the Aaron clans, but to give her back her freedom after so many years in captivity; a chance to swim in the open ocean instead of an aquarium tank.
My thoughts are starting to snowball, Nin. Do you think you might have any more ideas about how Flower could be involved?
And thanks for reading, EJP. Maybe I'll have something for you next time.

Well, I was thinking she'd be able to share the frequency she discovered with the other mermaids so that they didn't spend another set of years just finding the frequency out for themselves, plus they're more likely to listen to a fellow mermaid than to a human.
Well, except for Tide Water. To be frank, they're just less likely to hump a fellow mermaid than a human ... I don't plan on playing my character quite so ... desperate, though.

You sold me, Nin. Flower will be part of the Sojourner crew, though I don't know yet if she should be an assigned role or an NPC. Maybe I should make a CS for her?
And I appreciate your good taste and discretion with your Tide Water maid. x3 It does make sense that she'd be a little more conservative, given her human parentage. Not quite as eager as a "pure-bred" Tide Water maid.
So how many players does that make now? Four? Five?

It's looking like a great turnout so far!
As for a CS, I'd encourage making one. You never know when you might want to use her again somewhere else. Though a CS is only necessary according to the rules if you do, indeed, intend to use the character outside of your own RP.

Given her specific history with Ian and the events of the Aaron Isles plot, it's doubtful, but she could see service in other RPs in I play my cards right. Her background, her clan, it's all great food for thought. For now I may just draft a simple CS more for the purposes of personal notes, but if the chance arises to put her out into the multi-verse, I'll be sure to spiff it up a bit.
And yeah, the group we have so far is very encouraging! Thank you, everyone, for your interest and feed back! (^^)

Can I apply Jack Graves to be part of the crew? TL;DR for him is that he deals with supernatural things/mysteries. As for what purpose he can serve on the ship, I guess a supernatural specialist or something given that he has dealt with some undead and such. (And by dealt with I mean with a shovel but most people don't get around to hearing that negligible detail.) If dealings with such things must be omitted, that's fine as well, he is still a mythic-beings enthusiast. If he is not acceptable I'll hop back to working on a more appropriate character.

Ooh! I could use Jose Cuervo! I suppose he might have gotten a job on the ship, scrubbing stuff, or hauling something... Yay, nay?
