"Of course," the demon punctuated with another bow.
Perhaps his highness wasn't quick to employ the properties of electricity against the elemental, maybe he thought it cowardice to use materials that would conduct or deprive Varaj's power. All he knew for certain was that electricity would hold little threat to himself, he could shift himself to metal after all...

"It would be most simple," Camille pointed out, with a polite nod to Dantalion, as if to attribute the idea to him, "to simply insulate ourselves against electricity. It is a very easy process requiring quite common materials, and it would completely negate any combat ability Varaj might possess for directly striking us. I politely request that you present the reason why this has not been done."

With a not-nearly-as-polite pursing of the lips and a shifting of the eyes toward the blonde, womany-seeming entity when it finished talking. "And I politely request you tell me why we should trust you instead of the prince-ling here. Seems to me the mission, and my reward, is pretty simple to gain if we wait this month."

Gunter let out a frustrated sigh, shifting his stance and crossing his arms. This was the problem with working with too many people on the same mission. Whatever, he'd just have to wait. He didn't have to bother with dealing with them, they certainly weren't short on time for this mission.

Camille arched an eyebrow at the merccenary, though the way it did it suggested it wasn't actually surprised. "I never put forth the suggestion that we should not wait the month. You are jumping the proverbial blaster in this matter, I believe. In fact, I have suggested nothing, and only asked for the prince to give everyone the reason why insulation has not been put forth."

"Insulation will be a must of course, but it may only be effectinve for so long. Also Varaj fights on a physical level as well. You see..." The prince scratched his head. " He also fights with a set of armor and a sword." He unsheathed his blade and showed it to them. "It is composed f this very metal that my sword is made of. It is perfect for him to manipulate with his static and give him physical combat capabilities."

"But does that mean he's susceptable to physical damage?" Gunter asked a second time, although wording it differently.

"Is he? No. But the armor and sword are fair game." He turned away. "However the subtle energies that keep the universe in motion here are a little different. You can conquer him if you can generate enough magical energy of the opposite charge and hit him with it. But..." He turned back around, his smile dissolved a bit. "That will be the difficult part. He is a powerful sdversary and even if we gather such a force, if we miss our chance we simply won't have enough between us to do it again. So we have to get up close and personal with him."

"The principle of equal and opposite powers negating one another is not so unique as you believe, Bone Prince," Camille provided. "However, it is perhaps the crudest and most inefficient means to address the issue. In short, it is a negative option, requiring far too much effort with far too little security."

"I agree with the being named Camille, I understand the need to prove brute power your Highness, but such crude methods cannot be the only option," it was true but also an idea that helped preserve the distance he wanted to keep with the humans. The young prince also seemed much too hasty to create waste that would seem absurd even in the context of war.
"If he is indeed pure energy as you stated perhaps he can be converted, not his mind mind you, merely his essence into strengthening the throne."

"Indeed," Camille agreed with the literati with a nod of its head. "As a being of pure electrical energy, the most simple answer would be to force him to ground out. A very simple procedure executable by any number of different methods, most easily by the application of a metal rod between his being and a conductor, such as soil, contained in a nonconductor, such as a glass bowl, which is then sealed off. He would be effectively contained and would be unable to do anything to escape. His energy could then be neutralized in any way you chose."

Obadiah started to brighten up as the demon and flat-chested woman started talking; the young man had never been properly educated, so more than a few of the terms went straight over his head, but he understood enough to realize that they seemed to be figuring out how to make the job easier.
"Well, I've got some metal over here," Obadiah said, motioning toward the sheathed sword on his back. "It's sufficiently...workable enough that I can make it pure metal."

His interest in some of these fellow 'employees' began to rise as two of them, Camille and Dantalion, started to already formulate a workable plan. Much of it sounded like what he'd learned in regards to the science of alchemy. Not something he liked, even though made to learn the basics of it, because it was simply too difficult to find any real use for outside of controlled laboratories.
"While all this sounds like it'd work, the matter of setting up such a trap and then having it work perfectly while in the midst of possibly battling him, his army, or even both, I find would be, well, difficult. That's the problem with alchemy and science and things of such nature," he shrugged, "Much too unreliable without needing a very long time of prior testing, and then even still, hardly able to be properly applied in the midst of combat."

"A complicated trap may not be necessary," Camille explained patiently. "The glass bulb with the soil could be attached to the end of the metal pole, and indeed, that would likely be the most efficient way to do so, either attached directly to the base of the rod or via a cord to reduce the risk of the glass being broken in combat."

"Well, that sounds enough like a plan for me to vote yea to it, and even offer my services." After saying that, Obadiah held his sword out in front of him, and it stretched out, forming a halberd made of what was quite apparently pure steel.
"Is this what you need?"
