The visibly organic child eyed the queen with no manner of appraisal, polite or crude, except for that mask, itself.
Her gaze flicked sideways to eye the mark on Nayra's forehead, then back to the queen. Hmm. She folded an arm over her chest, propped her chin up on the palm of the other. Whatever the damage, she would soon learn what it was and the exact cause. That was just the way of things.
As for her hypothesis? A brand. The queen had likely been branded by the deity, like the blue-haired girl, who hadn't even known she'd had the seal until the king guy pointed it out. They'd all been there before, she believed that. Maybe blue-haired girl had met the Songbird as well, and been branded. The king guy had rather directly stated that it had caused her pain at one point.
All the same, there was food in the near vicinity.

"Why does she hide her face?" Nayra asked quietly, her own mind following similar channels to the alien police agent, but since she was right next to True, the younger girl would be able to hear her just fine. "What was it that the Songbird did to her that makes her need to wear a mask? Where did she go and where did she come from? This culture doesn't seem advanced enough for teleportation technology, and I didn't notice any trap doors ..."

While the others talked, Brudo's attention seemed to be drawn back to the table of many many fine wines, as he engorged himself on them, like a sponge soaking up water, he soaked up the alcoholic beverages...

He hit one that was particularly bitter, extremely dry and tasted something like apple vinegar.

Dominic strayed over towards him. "Hello sir, any wines you might suggest?" He looked down the wines, finding a particularly alluring red wine he had to pour a glass of. He tasted it once, and nodded to himself. He looked around to the other party goers, wondering if they were from different times and possibly different planets.

"She already said, she went to see the Songbird."
The smaller girl's hazel gaze slid sideways once more, her voice taking a strangely mature, faintly foreign tone. The accent was hard to pick out, maybe extra thickness on the consonants, perhaps too much breath on short a's.
"Teleportation is no great feat for the average high-powered individual. I, personally, assume that explains away how she arrived. On that note, we probably came here in about the same manner. As for the mask, your hypothesis is as good as mine. I think she's just been branded, like you." On the last word, she turned her head to properly look at the taller girl.
Then, her voice was normal again, and she looked away like they'd only spoken about a lizard one found in their house that morning. "But anyway, how long do you think those muffin-lookin' things have been out? Because I want them, but if they're bringing out more soon, I want those, too."

"I assure you," Nayra answered the girl, "I am as curious about our own arrival as I am concerning hers. And this Songbird, whatever it is, that doesn't tell us where she went, only that she went to see it. I don't like not having information. It makes me uneasy."

"I'm the same." A timid voice spoke up. Jake was standing almost directly behind Nayra. As usual, his sentances were super short, abrupt, and to the point.

True's gaze tore away from the muffins long enough to give the third alien a scowl and a once-over. "Uh-huh. Well. The Songbird might be one of those things that live in it's own dimension. Given the way everybody's been referring to it, it's not a person, so I'd guess it's one of those half sentient, ultimate powerful beings. If you guys are hurtin' so bad for info, I can turn into a lizard. Doubt this place has proper air vents. Call me."
Thumb and pinky extended, she made a 'phone' motion with one hand, and walked off, head up high, shoulders back, likely the most dignified she was going to be the whole night if she really did intend to take all the muffins for herself.

Before True could get far, though, a handmaiden stepped in front of her and the rest of the group. "Excuse me, the royal family has asked that we show you to your rooms. They want to thank you for putting on your best attire, but they understand most of you are uncomfortable and might want to call it a night."

Dominic shook his head. "Well, I guess nevermind." He looked at the wines a minute and walked forewards to the handmaiden. "Exscuse me, might I request a bottle of wine for my room?" He stood straight with his arms behind his back, still wishing he had his stuff with him.

"Actually, I really, really, like this dress. Which is saying something, coming from a tomboy like me." Cassandra said.
Tomboy my ass, this is the girliest dress I've ever seen.
Quiet, you.
Jake merely frowned, only moving his mouth out of a dry, flat line to say a few words. "I want my towel..."

"Certainly," the handmaiden answered Dominic. "I'll personally see that a chilled bottle is brought to your chambers."

Pulled from her worried thoughts by the arrival of the handmaiden, Velia glanced over at the stage once more before moving to the woman, wringing her hands in front of her and looking around the rest of the group as though waiting for them to ask a question. As though realizing that they probably couldn't read her mind and thus didn't know she wanted a question asked in the first place, though, she eventually raised a hand halfway and stuttered, "E-excuse me...Do we each have our own rooms? And are we going to be near each other?"

The handmaiden nodded. "Yes, of course, you'll have your own rooms. Unless there was someone you were hoping to share one with. I was told to prepare separate ones, though, so if you are ... in a relationship with one of your friends, I am afraid I was not able to prepare in advance for it."
