"It's Jake," Lucas reminded him. "Of course he knows more than he wants us to think."

Cassandra nodded in agreement. "Yeah. Tell me about it... There are times where I feel like he's seen me naked more than I have... I mean, have you ever talked to someone, and you feel as though they're undressing you with their eyes, but for some reason they already know exactly what it's like down there?"
The templar was greated with an awkward silence. "What... that's just me?" Cassandra asked.
"Yeah... I think so, Cass..." Colin muttered, giving his double a flat stare.
Cassandra merely sighed. "What about you, Farrah?" She asked.
The princess immediately turned crimson again as she jumped. " I never undressed you once in my entire life! Ever!" She shouted in a panic. "Not that I would want to anyway... Because I like undressing boys! But I haven't done that either!"

"Oh boy," Maxwell moaned with a sigh as he slapped his forehead and muttered. "Who does she think she's fooling?"

Gerard sighed, getting up and walking over to his sister. She looked up at him in terror as he gripped her shoulder. "Farrah, listen to me." He said sternly. "I know that you look at girls the way other girls look at boys. I know that you clearly have some strong feelings for this young woman here. Look at me, Farrah." He suddenly stated when the girl started to look away in embarassment. "Sis, you're a smart girl, you're going to be a wonderful leader when you grow up. Young noblemen are going to want to court you and shower you with affection." Once again, Farrah looked away again, frowning sadly.
"But." Gerard said as he gently moved Farrah's head back to look at him. "If you wish to forego that and instead choose the company of another woman, that's your choice to make. It's not my place to condone or condemn you for who you like. What's important is that you live safely and happily. Understand?"
Farrah stared up at her brother in amazement, quietly tearing up. She gave a wide grin and nodded eagerly before leaning her head against Gerard and hugging him.

Maxwell grinned with a sudden joke as he moved back over toward Lucian and elbowed him good-naturedly. "You know," he whispered, "we could probably wean her off girls if we put you in a dress."

"And intervene on that girl's relationship?" Lucian asked, jabbing a finger towards Cassandra. "I knew Gerard wanted to do me in, but I didn't know you did too."

Still he grinned, wider now in enjoyment of the man's reply. "Good point." With that, though, he took on a more serious expression. "So what do you think of this totema stuff?"

"Even in the palace's inner workings, not many know the names of the Totema, let alone their existance. I think it's safe to say that this... bizarre clan truly does have previous experience combating them." Lucian said. "It may be prudent to keep an eye on them."

Maxwell nodded in agreement, but pointed out, "One shouldn't look down on the bizarre because it is different from our common perceptions of what should be. Often, it is that very difference that allows it to accomplish what the more commonplace cannot." He smiled fondly of the memory of when he first heard the quote, as it was not his own, and he gave credit to the man to whom it did belong a moment later. "Warlic, a man wise beyond even his unknown number of years."

"You can dress it up like a Hume as much as you want." Lucian said. "A Lamia's a Lamia. My mother."

Maxwell nodded in agreement and responded without so much as a smirk, "And hotter, besides."

Lucian stared flatly at Maxwell. "They're snake women, Maxwell..."

"Designed to lure men in like bees to nectar, if your idea of a lamia and mine are the same," Maxwell corrected. "By necessity, your average lamia is more physically attractive, if only in the upper body, than your average hume."

"I still think the lower part is enough of an off-puter... That's the important part..." Lucian said dryly.

"Yeah," Maxwell agreed, "but if you're dressing her up like a hume, you won't see the bottom part. It'll be covered by a dress. I once attended a wedding between a guy I knew and a lamia. They made a beautiful couple, but her dress was huge. They pulled it off well, though. She looked like she just glided across the floor." The Guardian thought for a minute. "I think they have five, six children now."
