"I dunno," the knight mused in confusion, scratching the side of his head. "I've seen a few non-human-like robots that were pretty smart. There was a teddy bear one that was trying to take over the southern continent a while back."

"Oh, that's not a robot. That's an animatronic doll. They're smart too. And not all robots are unintelligent, it's just typically the androids that are smarter." Cassandra said, smiling.

"But ..." the knight struggled, "they're ... ALL robots, technically. Just different kinds."

Cassandra shook her head. "No, no, no! If you put it that way, we're robots too. You see, robots are more like tools that work on their own. Some just look like machines, others are more recognisable. But typically, they're just mindless drones working under a computer. But then, you have ones with their own CPU, so technically, they can "think" for themselves, but probably not in a sentient, human-like way..." The girl rambled on.

But the knight raised a finger in contradiction. "Robots are artificial."

"Well, yes, they're machines, they're made of metal and wires. But if you think about it, people are machines, too." Cassandra said.

"People are organic," the knight pointed out easily before repeating, "Robots are artificial."

"He's right..." Judas mumbled, not really wanting to butt in. "If robots are constructs, it serves to reason that, since people are not constructs, people are not robots, or animal-tronic dolls."

"Thank you," Maxwell stated in exasperation as he turned and bowed his head to Judas in gratitude. "Thank you."

Cassandra almost pulled her hair in frustration. "No, no, no, that's not what I-" She cut herself off and sighed.

THe guard soon led the group to a simple looking building. After going through a simple hallway, and passing through a few sets of guards, they were met with another man at a desk. He looked up to the group curiously.
"Eh, can I help you?" The officer acknowleged. Veon was about to reply, when the guard who was leading them around, suddenly cut them off.
"They'ol be headin' off ta foight, they dunna care whare they go." The guard said, sounding still a bit annoyed that he did not get any form of reward for finding free mercenaries.
"Good, because we need a spearhead unit to go through the middle lines for the next attack." Veon gave a surprise look, he was not happy in the least at hearing this. "Good sir, I'm sure our services would be much more appropriate than being mere fodder for the other units.
"Sorry friend, it's either the front lines, or you are on your way back where you came from." The officer said in an uncaring manner as he began pulling out a crude map to lead the group to the front lines. Daristan shook his head. "We are not common militia that you can simply throw away to feed the enemies dogs!" He exclaimed, not thrilled at the mission that they were getting. From the looks of it, if the enemy was truly strong requiring the full militia as well as being pushed back, they may be the first to die.
"Take it or leave it." The officer said looking back to his paper work. Veon gave an annoyed sigh, before taking the map, and walking out of the office.

Maxwell examined the map for a moment before speaking. "Call me zealously driven to my duties as a Guardian," he stated, "but I think we should take it. We have more power in our group than this militia might have in their whole force. If anyone can break the line, it would be us, and if we are the ones to go in, succeed or fail, then these men get to have that much more opportunity to get home to their families."

"Then you are indeed overzealous and uneducated on military potential." Daristan spat. Maxwell perhaps did not understand the power that the military itself had in this instance. But how could he? He was not from this realm. Veon spoke up, however his voice was far less hostile than Daristan's.
"Maxwell, I agree with your conviction, however, after having served in my kingdom's military for years, this tactic that they have assigned us is perhaps the most difficult to accomplish if we are to achieve our goals." He explained. "The spearhead tactic is for us to pierce their front lines and hold the line there so the rest of the armed forces can catch up while we sew discourse throught the backs, rupturing the fronts. Unfortunately, this battle is not our mission objective. Our mission is to go far beyond the front lines to find The Iron Golem Endbringer, and take back the piece of the ritual they have discovered. I agree, we could save lives... but the sooner we proceed to our mission, the more lives are saved... and the spearhead is one of the slowest, most obtuse ways of accomplishing this." He explained.

"I'm familiar with the maneuver," Maxwell confirmed. "It's slow, it's risky, yes, but you heard him. Either we do it or we don't go through. It doesn't sound like a point they are willing to debate, and the more time we spend trying to do so, the less time we have to reach our objective and the more we harm our relations with this militia, which could be of great aid to us if we help."

"We cannot simply rush our way through, we must explore our options, we must reach the battle field before we can do so however." Veon said as he continued walking.
