www.eabii.proboards102.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=serious&thread=1172612181&page=11After three days of travel, the group moved the from the green plains of the countryside and dirt roads that they had been taking, and into the rocky mountainous areas of the desert. Although, the area seemed to be more rocky than that of a blistering field of sand and heat, the vegetation was next to nothing. Where there seemed to be a lack of vegetation, there seemed to be an abundance of mineral and iron deposits. Empty and abandoned mine shafts dotted the area. The group was able to however, get by without too much difficult and no injury. Soon coming to a large trade and mining town. Veon recognized something. “We may have a problem.” He said aloud. Daristan looked up, he had been quiet the entire trip, as he did not take the heat very well, especially in the clothing that he wore, the sweat on his brow glistening in the sun as he followed Veon’s pointing hand. He pointed at various high banners, red and white in color. “Around the city, flags of that kind usually mean that there is a military presence. Rarely are such banners up in a time of peace. If we are lucky, then it will just be a barracks and rally point. If we are unlucky, this may be the back lines of a battle field.” Veon explained as they approached the mining town.

Judas Magick looked sick from his personal vantage point, one white eye with a red cross in the center rolling up to look.
"What are the odds we will be lucky?" He asked nauseously.

"Unless anyone here is familiar with the military action that has taken place in this region. I used to take such practices, but have been absorbed in our quest to pay much attention."
"Then there is only one way in which for us to find out." Daristan interrupted as he suddenly started walking forward, interupting group discussion, the heat probably making him even shorter in temper than usual. Veon simply shrugged and followed suit silently.

Judas blinked, unconsciously changing his eye to a glowing emerald, and followed without further question. The rocks in his boots were driving him absolutely mad, perhaps Daristan was having a similar issue.

Graham, was mostly silent by this point but as the group began to walk forward he decided to voice his opinion. "So, we are just going to waltz in there in hopes that there aren't thousands of soldiers ready and waiting to take our heads!? That's both reckless and stupid, why don't we try to come up with a plan, or am I the only one that is taking the heat of this place in stride?"

Maxwell paused, looking back at Graham. "Our food supply is low, our water supply is lower and our non-consumable supplies are growing tattered. We need to replenish our stocks before going further. And hopefully, this isn't a military that attacks for no reason. On the other side, if it is, then we'll likely have to face them sooner or later, anyway."

Despite the fact he was arguing the point, he was actually walking while talking. "Then why rely on a possibly hostile force to provide them? If we can find a way around then we can freshen up then take them down!" Slightly unsure of what he said, he asked "Did that make sense?"

"No," the knight answered flatly. "This is the only town within who knows how many miles. There's no point in being cowards letting ourselves be led around by fear and what-ifs and sneaking around what could just as easily be a friendly presence just to go sneak somewhere else. What if the next city has a military presence, too? And the one after that? Would you have us run like rats through the world ducking under rocks and around corners every time we saw a sign of civilization?"

(Due to a continuity error, all posting MUST cease, the issue will hopefully be resolved soon.)

(Fixed, I'm so sorry. I've been sick and completely out of it. I've switched out Star for Maxwell.)

(Alright, problem resolved, things may resume.)
Veon chimed in upon hearing the debates between the group.
"Your precautions are well warranted Graham, you may not be of this area. However, we need not resort to techniques like that of a snake. I recognize the colors, they are of this nation. And chances are, they are not simply a band of marauders, it would take a sizeable force to take such a mining town." Veon explained.
"More like Paranoia." Daristan replied to the ground. To which Veon gave an dissaproving sigh for hastening more inter party turmoil.

"I don't care if it's a horde of bloodthisty, lustful brigands on steroids! Let's just get in there and get some food before I get eaten by the overgrown lizard!" Cassandra said suddenly, her tone impatient and harried.
"I already told you, Hubert has no interest in eating you, he just likes your smell." Andres said dryly. "For a maiden of Elmine, you're quite loud. Brazen, in fact."
"For the last time, I'm NOT a maiden of Elmine! I don't even know what Elmine is!" Cassandra snapped back.

Maxwell raised a casual hand as the group started moving again. "What is a maiden of Elmine, exactly, Gerard?"

(That's Andres, Ninmast. You're thinking of the wrong RP. =P)
"A female follower of the Church of Elmine." Andres said. "Only the devout in Her service can utilze such skill in the healing arts. A properly trained Sage can heal, and even a Druid can, despite their connection to the old gods. But a follower of Elmine is more adept."

"I dunno," the Guardian answered thoughtfully. "I've seen some really good healers that've never even heard of her."
