"The gods don't smile upon me as much as they used to. In fact, it would please some of them to watch me die in person." He continued to inch forward. "Without the chance of them actually helping, faith in them does me no good."

"Mortals who call themselves gods are fickle as much by necessity as by nature," was Kali's response as he remained calm despite Toriji's extremely gradual approach. "They cannot be everywhere, they cannot address everything, so they assure themselves that they don't have to. I, myself, am mightier than many who would claim such a title. The Chosen One, even, has dethroned her share of false deities in her time. No doubt you will, as well."

"Oh these are no mortals. You'll forgive me if I refer to my dimension when I speak of them. Quite afew of them favor me, just not the most imporant ones. One of my best friends is a demi-god, but they don't matter as much as the judge gods. When Fire and Death hate you, it's hard to ask for favors."

But Kali made a dismissive motion with his hand. "My dear boy, trust me when I say that not all titles are what they seem, particularly the self-imposed ones."

"And trust me, these are genuine gods. I know for certain. I now I am still young, but facts so obvious as this one could never escape me. If you ever met one, you'd be just as certain as I am. They are quite imposing even without speaking, their presence can be painful."

"As mine would be, even to a demon prince such as yourself, were I not to restrain it in good manners," Kali countered politely. "This is a lesson you must learn. Never to take anything at face value, no matter how obvious it may seem. Never assume anyone to be anything just because they say so and they are stronger than you. Such policies will only leave you a weak king when your father passes his throne to you."

"Never talk to me that way!!!" his voice turned from a calm tone to a deep snarl. "I may be youg in demonic terms, but I am still thousands of years old. Anyone who can cripple even my father with just their prescence is god enough for me. That's much strongerthan any of my enemies. Even you would be defenseless against the Judge God ,Lightning."He pulled himself back together and calmed hs temper. "I am sorry for that, but I do know what I'm talking about. I've travelled over may din=mensions and have more experience than most my age."

Despite the outburst, Kali still remained calm. He simply stood there while the boy railed on him, taking it all in stride. When he was finally finished, he spoke. "Would you like to see the power of a god, Toriji? A real god?"

Toriji scoffed at the remark. "I hope you're not talking about yourself, because you are far from it. Show me what you got.!" He cracked his neck in anticipation.

Like a door opening up, waves upon waves of power the likes Toriji had never felt before wracked like tidal waves against him, all emanating from the Man-Demon, and they only seemed to be intensifying. He gave forth no effort. It truly seemed he had been, as he claimed, holding it back for civility's sake.

The rush of energy was cripling. "Yes...you...are... strong. We...already knew...that." Toriji found it hard to talk under the pressure. "But...this..still...pales in...comparison... to Lightning." He knelt down to one knee.

(Just for the record, it would be stronger than anything he's felt, even Lightning's. What Toriji doesn't know is that the entire realm he is in right now is under Kali's complete control. He can seem as powerful as he desires.)
But the waves crashing against him only continued to grow in potency as more was released. "You taste but a sample of my power, Toriji, and as has been said, I am no god. What does that tell you of your own self-proclaimed deities?"

"Urg!" Toriji found himself unable to speak, in his human form. He quckly changeis tentaclesd into his demon form and began to push back. It wasn't enough to stop the pain, but he could stand and talk now. He rose back to his feet with the help of his tentacles. "I must say that is much stronger than Lightning. Which means something is wrong. There is something awry if a nephilim can out power a god. So what is it you are doing?"

"I am the mortal son of Satan," he answered calmly, restraining his energies once more. "False gods have a tendency to fall before true power."

"Yes, the Dark Lord is powerful. But you yourself said "mortal" son of Satan. There is no way you could be this strong with that mar in yiour bloodstream. Which brings me back to my original question. What are you doing?"
