Setting: During the Great Mortality. Late 1340's. (To those that don't know, the Great Mortality is the event known now as the Black Plague.) Alternate World though.
Timeline: Medieval.
Powerlevel: 3-5. 6's on a case by case basis.
This RP is going to be fairly highly player driven for the first two days atleast. After that the lock-down starts; news of which will spread rapidly. Over the next few days, chaos will increase - and what happens during that; you'll have to wait and see.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not long following the arival of the adventurers, the fair city of Meziah is put under complete lock down. Crime quickly becomes more and more common as the people fear death as supplies have not been coming into the city in the last week, not to mention a disease is starting to spread.
Though it has yet to be anounced why the lock down has happened, rumors has spread of people being taken into questioning. Also, of the death of one of the co-leaders of Meziah; specifically the Paladin, Roy Blair. Neither of which has been proven, yet.
Meziah, a metropolis that holds a critical point between two massive cliffs with one river going through was ruled by a tyrant until two years ago when the current leaders came to power through a powerful rebellion backed up by that of the church. The seven co-leaders are Roy Blair, Elizabeth Blair, Blake Brown, William Krevas, Johnathon Williams, Lia Amakiir, Beau Thorngage. Roy, Elizabeth, Blake, William, and Johnathon are all humans, while Lia is an elf and Beau is a halfling.
Each of them specializes in different abilities, Roy is a powerful paladin known for his concern with the well beings of the people. His wife, Elizabeth is a priestess of the church and helped push the overthrow of the tyrant king. Blake, interestingly enough, is an Archmage, and well known for his talents in the field of conjuration. William - nothing to peciular about him, the owner of a monastary. Johnathon is a bit odd though, he hardly fits into the high social class that was bestowed apon him - since he was born and raised in the wilderness area nearly twenty days away from Meziah. Ah, Lia who can forget her beauty and grace? Even when she has taken the form of a hawk or cat.
Keying the stereotypes is Beau - a rogue; the self-proclaimed best 'collector' ever.
--------(Noon Today)----------
"What ever do you mean?" Elizabeth asks Lia having her explain that a plague would come in two days on rats.
"Rodents - they are infected with a disease. I feel they will pass it to the living they come near," Lia says, her long silver hair falling down against her carefully made natural-colored clothes, as that no metal was part of them.
"Rodents? Isn't those rats?" Johnathon asks.
"Yes. Yes, rodents are rats," Lia says her deep green eyes looking at Johnathon and his unease in the city - something she shared.
"I don't fear rats - let them come; they couldn't possibly do anything to anyone," Johnathon says, his grand ego obvious.
"Wrong; the disease - it will cause the death of many. If I am correct."
"Hmm, if what you say is true - we should not be here in the building waiting, we should be closing down the city gates, prevent anything going in or out. Least until we can find a wait to prevent this disease," Roy states before turning to Elizabeth and Blake, "Can you two try and get the local clerics and conjurerers together to work on food supplies for the lockdown?"
"I can try, Elizabeth will have better luck though; my apprentics are not able to get down some of the more vital conjuring incantations down yet," Blake says, turning to leave the meeting hall at once to get to work on this task.
Leaning forward, Elizabeth kisses Roy on the cheek, before saying, "I will do what I can," before following suite.
"The monastary may be able to help ease the food burden a little, we atleast have enough to supply for all of us," William says, his hands clasped together.
-------(Shortly after leaving.)-------
Interally, Blake scoffs at them. Rodents? Please. This is a pointless waste of time, but I'm only one person - the rest seem to like the idea of a lockdown over a potential disease.
